If your phone is old, second hand, or is on blacklist, its battery will be weak. You have to pair it with an activated laptop through Bluetooth. Your phone will be removed from the blacklist. Google Maps positioning is required, and route planning once. You will notice, that the batt no longer drain, and the phone won't be hot. Activated laptops also need Google maps positioning once. The device is inside the battery, so if you have more batteries, you need Google Maps positioning for each battery. Bt pairing needs once for a device. Modem activation is also needed for pc and laptops, you can do this through bt with infrared phones, simply by pairing once. That is -normal modem- driver installed from the phone during bt pairing.

Kevin, being an ex-Microsoft guy, were you ever familiar with Streets & Trips? I'm in a Miata Club and often lead folks on roads all over Texas. Obviously, I take roads unfamiliar to many, but S&T lets me map some really obscure routes, which is great! It also provides me with a written turn by turn direction page. Does Google Maps offer that kind of experience? If so, can you do a video on trip planning on unfamiliar roads? Thanks, I really have learned a lot from you!

Hey Kevin, great vid. I am a Real Estate Broker and use google maps a lot in my work. If I can google -property for sale in an area- and get information, how do I get the same results by using the same search in google map? My goal is to be able to search an area using google maps and see property for sale on the area map. I just noticed in the DFW area MLS the software uses google lat and long to pin the properties location.

If you get directions for one place to the another place, you can opt to share the map. One of the share options is to embed the code that displays the map route. Paste into the draft of a Google Site and you will see a map with the route on your webpage.

I don't have the option to save my parking automatically in my phones' settings, there is no even such section -Parking- as shown in this video. One phone is Pixel 3 with Android 12, another one is Motorola One 5G Ace with Android 10, both on Fi plan.

Just a suggestion that you beep -Ok Google- wherever you say the magic phrase in your videos, so that it doesn't trigger the Google Assistant of the viewers, like it did for me!

Nice but some of the trick doesn't work for me (even with the last update).
- 1 finger zoom in-out
- reminder departure time
- drag/move a point to change the route

Nope, no Save Parking Location setting available. Google have never learned how to structure settings and they keep mixing it op. Most people cannot turn Avoid Highways on or off.
