How to Configure RAID1 Mirrored Drives in Windows - OnlineComputerTips In this video we will be showing you how to create a RAID 1 or mirrored drive set in Windows using 2 newly installed hard drives. All you need to do is initialize them within Disk Management and create the new mirror with you two new drives. You can think of a mirrored drive set as a duplicate copy of all the data on your drive. When you write to that mirrored disk, you are actually writing to both of the hard drives at the same time. So if one drive fails, you will still have all of your data on the other disk and can replace the failed drive and rebuild your mirror and carry on. Keep in mind that you will not get the capacity of both hard drives so if you install two 1 TB drives, you will only have 1TB of space with your mirrored drive since it has to write to both of the drives simultaneously

I honestly don't know how to thank you. I have been going CRAZY OVER THIS. Its 3:19 AM and I looked so far, I don't even know what to say. Thank you, from the very bottom of my heart.

I don't understand the need to create virtual disks. If you have 2 internal hard disks, you should just use those, right? Without messing with virtual disks. Thanks.
