How to Use the Windows Photo Viewer with Windows 11 (and Windows 10) - OnlineComputerTips
If you were a fan of the default photo viewing program in Windows 7 that was called the Windows Photo Viewer then it's fairly easy to get it back in Windows 11 with a simple registry hack. By default, Windows 11 will use the Photos app to open jpeg, tiff, and png images etc. All you need to do is use the text below in a registry file, reboot and you will have the Windows Photo Viewer on your open with menu and also in your default apps section of the Windows settings.

Francesco It didn't work! I can see it for the .tif files but it doesn't appear for the .jpg . In C:/Program files appeared a directory named Windows Photo Viewer but inside it there are these files: ImagingDevices.exe, ImagingEngine.dll, PhotoAcq.dll, PhotoBase.dll, PhotoViewer.dll. In settings Apps > Default apps Windows Photo Viewer appears but only for files .tiff and .tif. Can anybody help me? Thx in advance Francesco

Mtl I am looking for something that can replace WPG (Windows Photo Gallery) more specifically for the tagging photos function which was super useful. I have tried to download WPG but to no avail. Any suggestions? reply
