Thanks for this interesting tour of the scary world of potentially losing your identity, I use different email accounts like you described and the advice about browsers is spot on.
The whole world of privacy took a major nose dive after 9/11 after the Twin Towers went down and the Patriot act was brought in and enacted to stop the terrorists and monitoring all cyber traffic for threats, so you can understand why it's there and since the Edward Snowdon revelations we now know so.
I don't bother with extra protection like the ant-virus programs because I don't shop or use a smartphone, if they track me and what I like isn't that an advantage for me?
Recently signed up to join an online newspaper (for free) and now, on day 2 I have triple the volume in my inbox.
All the bad guys would be using different non tracking mirrored stuff anyway, especially 'Burners' so most monitoring of public telecommunications is wasted time because the bad guys are on different waves.
Once upon a time it was just the Windows PC's that got attacked by virus and almost zero for Apple systems. Now, everybody is threatened but as you said, Linux is safer.
I know one other person with a Linux but was put off getting one when I saw how thick his 3 instruction manuals were.

Buddy. I have recently decided to get back up to speed with Linux and start studying networking, so I can get a couple certifications and change career.
As I started my studies into modern networking, I am getting side tracked by all these privacy concerns. You have sufficiently freaked me out, that it's interrupting (supplementing/bolstering) my studies.
THANK YOU! These are some of the most informative and valuable videos on YouTube.

Vivaldi is also a great choice for privacy. They also have unique features for productivity. Also, don-t use Brave.
BTW, Ubuntu contains Amazon spyware, so I won-t recommend it.

Really good video. Explains really clear what and how to do it. What about testing things out on a virtual machine first before applying them on your real machine?

- No need to use two browsers, can use one with multiple profiles.
- Setting your browser to forget your browsing history doesn't affect trackers.
