How much does Alexa know about you? (Hint: A LOT) - Surveillance Report 60 - Techlore There's new research showing just how much Alexa and other smart devices spy on you (Including Siri, Google Assistant, Cortana, & Bixby) Seegal: The -why- of the Trump Social Networking Platform would be -because Mr. Trump is so controversial that he and his followers get deplatformed on every other platform-. So while I may or may not disagree with Trumps opinion, this still shows the great strengths of Free and Open Source Software, meaning it is great for Free Speech, even if the things that are said are nothing I'd personally enjoy hearing. After all, democracy and freedom are rights to be granted universally, not only for the people I agree with and who are of my opinion. Free Speech is just the same, and FOSS makes that possible, even if I hate some of the things that Trump is saying.

News: local woman shocked by Amazon receiving all the audio she sent them and the company complying to the request to send it back to her.
Yes, all current AI assistants will just record a clip and send it, they don't process any audio. This is no secret. There's nothing special here.
That said, I'd love AI assistants that do it all locally. There's a couple out there, but (as you would expect) setting them up isn't as easy.

So the acoustic model of voice characteristics is a pretty unique biometric dataset which then allows them to identify any person anywhere, no matter which microphone their voice happs to be picked up by, as long as it goes into that same database. That's just as scary as biometric facial recognition. How can I force these companies to delete this data about me?

You guys are right! Fingerprinting is done mostly via js. Things like your fonts, screen resolution and other things are usually used. There are ways to protect yourself against that kind of stuff tho, some great extensions help you with that too.

Alexa knows I get up at 4AM and all the words I don't know the definition to. (plus my Amazon addiction because of how often I yell - track my packages-) Yea I really should just get an alarm, a dictionary and look out the window more often.

The fact that the fairphone might be supported by calyx os is going to be incredible I don't have to support google to use calyx os assuming thats true of course. Now i just have to wait for the fairphone to come to the us hopefully

You guys are the best! What you're doing is very important for people to watch!
Also it would be great if you published these videos on Saturdays earlier in great first half of the day.

Maybe someone can build a privacy tool that clones your fingerprint and then creates a whole lot of random traffic so your actual traffic is more obscure and harder to find.
