Imagine the phone is a pinpoint on a map, showing your location (actually the PHONE'S location. So. 1) if it's on at your home, you're discovered 2) if it's on AND it's near your NORMAL phone that is ALSO on, then it's either you or someone meeting you - you're discovered 3) if it's on near one of the millions of cameras, they can get the footage and potentially see you, your license plate, etc. - you're discovered 4) so, you think you're smart and power it up on a lonely road or wooded area in the -middle of nowhere-, then turn it off after using it. Now they look at camera footage at the next intersections of the -lonely road-. One, two, three vehicles are at the intersection; a small target pool of plates/faces to chose from. One of them is probably you unless you can hide you and your vehicle for many hours before driving near one of those cameras. Knock! Knock! Knock! Circumstantial evidence is powerful.
If the above is a concern, your adversary is pretty serious about identifying you. Just remember: 1) it pinpoints you in time and space 2) they'll try to acquire any other information from that time and space (video footage, other phones, internet, witnesses, ATM transactions, police interactions. 3) they'll do the SAME for the OTHER end of the call 4) same applies if you RECEIVE a call
The workaround? Make it really hard for your adversary. Get TWO burners for you (and TWO burners for whoever you're trying to contact, if you're super secret squirrel. At some good location, set up all four phones.
Figure out which phone you will use (A) and which your contact (B) will use. Write it down THOSE NUMBERS (A, B) with diagrams because it's going to get a little complicated.
Remember those other two phones? Great. Chose one and write down that number with a note, -I will call THIS number to contact him/her- Set THAT phone up with CALL FORWARDING to your contact's number (B. Now you have one phone left. Write down, -My contact will call THIS number to get me. - Set THAT phone up with CALL FORWARDING to your phone (A. Test it. If YOU call a certain number, then phone B will ring. If -they-call a certain number, then your phone A will ring.
Lastly, destroy those phones with the forwarding on them. Never call each others phone A or B, directly. Each person should ALWAYS call the correct -cut out- phone number.

None of this trash Works they have voiceprint they have it all you're done maybe just maybe if you buy cell phone and maybe China where they don't have a camera inside the screen with the United States probably has by now on everybody cell phone because people are covering their cameras and clipping after microphones and using headphones with a microphone on it it's all trash nothing works now there has to be some kind of change coming even President Obama said if there's an unbreakable cell phone they have to be brought down that makes absolutely no sense since the companies that made the unbreakable cell phones the United States I'm pretty sure is taking them over and using them for themselves it doesn't make any sense

All these problems with technology that we now depend on. in exchange to use it, there is a price. we are giving our lives away to strangers, our dignity means nothing. all in the name of some -community- protection which is actually unprotection. it rips our personal financial and family privacy to give away to crooks. and we got rid of those sweet public pay phones at the gas station. And we thought it was more dangerous to drive down to a gas station to make a call on a public pay phone. think again. We have danger in our bedroom intercepting our every personal information. That-s really not progress, that-s regressing

You do realize your video can be classified as a beginners lesson on how to hide your calls when making a terrorist cell right? For honest people a burner phone is not needed and if the goverment is looking for you? your already dead so no point in trying to avoid the inevitable. and facial recognition really isnt a thing anymore since most of the populace are walking around in gansta mode with hoodies and bandanna masks looking like street thugs. yes granny as well even kids all masked up in thug mode

Here's a question that may get you. say you have an Android unlocked phone you used for 2 years. You sell the phone and the new owner starts their own plan. Being it has the same imei number does everything that new owner does online now gets attached to your identity? I would think google has your identity from your imei for everything you did for years. The new owner starts doing their own b searching and the imei is the same so Google thinks it is still the identity from the first identified owner.

I'm a technologically impaired pepper. I'm about to start driving 90 miles one way to work each day. With that having been said, I was looking to get a burner as a back-up phone to store in my bug-out bag. If I buy something like a Trakfon, with prepaid minutes, and do not activate it, how long is it good for? My smart phone doesn't work well in the area I'm driving through. I'm not a criminal. I'm quite the opposite.

Out of the recommended burners, why Nokia 105 (2017) instead of (2019?
The specs are near identical as far as I can tell except for a very slight difference in size and price, but both lack WLAN, Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, NFC & infrared, and both run on Nokia Series 30+ OS, both are also only 2G, so what is worse about the 2019 as far as privacy is concerned?

I don-t list my number my number as public as here in Australia you have to pay to make it public or list it on public listings. (There is a fee associated with making a public listing for phone numbers and stuff)
