It used to be so simple, then someone gets the bright idea to move things around and add more clicks to the process. I was unable to find Automatic Replies under the File button as it used to be. After much searching, I found it under the Tools button. About midway down, you'll see the Out of Office Assistant and the steps are very simple once you open that up. It will allow you to generate a message for within or from outside your organization or both. You'll select your date range and all of this is done on ONE screen. Click OK and you're done.

Just to save everyone some time. Go to File, then click Automatic Replies (Out of Office. This will allow you to create your going away message and when you want it activated. There used to be a out of office assistant, but this is pretty much the same thing.

Oh my God they really did not have to complicate this process so much. It used to be so easy to just click and set it up real quick oh, now every time I go out of town I got to watch the video

You skipped on how to save the actual message. I tried save as but it didnt change the name of the email I want to use.
