Thanks for the great video. As someone who has been using Adobe Illustrator for almost 2 years, I am really enjoying all of Affinity Designer's features. It just seems so much more well thought out and clean. Major things I am impressed are:
- The color menus. I LOVE that every color menu has a color picker that can grab from anywhere.
- The brush engine seems way better
- Grid support looks awesome. I know this is in Adobe, but I feel like I am always fighting it.
- Insert Inside Selection is a great way to support clipping. Illustrator's clipping masks are incredibly tedious and rarely work how I want.
Overall, I am really impressed with this software so far.

I'll just add another comment to say thanks so much for this. Coming from adobe products this has so many little bits and bobs that would have taken me a little while to figure out on my own, but seem completely intuitive to use now I've been shown.
I have no idea why Affinity decided to split their own (very nice) website tutorials into one hundred different one minute topics whilst never compiling them into one big 'get started' video like this one.

What a great video. I'm in BootCamp running Win 10 on a iMac 27 with a Magic Keyboard and the latest Affinity Designer and getting so frustrated as the shortcut keys used here don't seem to work on my setup, I'm getting it wrong. I know I have a iMac but no nothing about using one which is why it has Bootcamp installed. I use to have a keyboard print out to match PC Keyboard but thats lost, I've searched for a new one but not found. Sorry to be a pain.

Wow this was the best and amazing tutorial Ive never used any graphic site I buy already made vectors from other sites and I was wanting to make my own graphics for my tumbler and tshirt business I was very lost in this tutorial bc I have no background in graphic design but maaan have you peeked my interest in learning this program to enhance my business thank you so much for doing this video your awesome

This is super helpful, but I have the iPad version. I feel like its missing a lot of the menus and features that the desktop version has. Is it actually limited in features, or are they just hidden in the UI in a way I cant figure out? (For example, the settings along the top of the desktop UI for the pen tool that change the modes it can be in are nonexistent in the iPad version)

Hello from the future! It's now 2022, and I am so glad I found your video. It took me about 2 days to thoroughly go through and test everything in your video, and boy did it work out well! I can't thank you enough, great vid, great quality explanations, got me started quickly after my switch to the Affinity Designer software.

I am catching up on knowledge of how Affinity Designer works, because I forgot a lot after taking a long break from graphic design. This video is as effective it gets in terms of tutorials! Do you know what is the best file format to use when you export an design that you want people to be able to customize them self with their own software; like changing the colors of individual items, for example the hair color of an avatar? Thank you.

This is a very helpful video, one of the best I have watched when trying to learn a new software. Good work! I appreciate how you didn't just try to explain every tool, but by showing an example all the tools were used and explained.

Do you know why I don't have the white bar (Apple icon, AD, File, Edit and so on) then the icons below in black and rulers on my iPad Pro? I just purchased Affinity Designer and i can't find a way to get those functions to show.

In my AD is missing the Noise slider under the color wheel. I have the slider but it stands for Opacity. I've looked inside the Studio panel, but couldn't find it.

Just purchased Affinity Designer. Why are my tools to the left grayed out? It appears your version is not. My vision isn't great and I can barely see them.
