Thus giving us the ability to change the amount or the style of sharpness anytime. Also, we are going to touch upon how to selectively sharp only specific areas and avoid sharpening when it introduces noise

Hey. I've got myself a closeup of a grasshopper like that, but with a little too much flashglare in the skin. Could you make a video of how to reduce that white glare on the green skin, without loosing the textures? I mean, I know I can just clone stamp it out, but in my image, the flashglare is on the cheek of the grasshopper and on that cheek there are a lot of droplets, which I would like not to loose.

Excellent tutorial. Thank you. But, I'm trying to understand the difference between invert + Gaussian blur + Vivid light + Group + Overlay and just high pass + Overlay
If you guys interested in the Action, if you record a Flatten Image as a first step, it works for any layer, layer name doesn't need to be Background (as a contribution to Unmesh's great efforts.

Hello, great vid! I have a question? If I used empty layer to remove blemishes before and applied sharpened action after. What will happen? Will it let me? Or I need to ctrl +shit+alt+E, then play action? What if I want to keep all my layers below and work inconstructively?

Okay, so I have to say this. I absolutely love this tutorial. It's really well done, you are explaining everything, you're saying everything with good diction and your accent is very cute. I'll certainly come back here for more. It's the most honest subscribtion I ever gave.

Very nice tricks. I learned it from you. Thanks for sharing! But I have a request, in this video 9 minute 24 seconds you told that you usually go with flow. would you please describe the flow option of brush? how does it works and what does it work for?

I am so glad I have found you! Your videos are not only practical, but you explain why they work (eg, changing the contrast of the edges. I appreciate that. not just the hows, but also the whys. Thank you so much. I have become a big fan!

Great tutorial as usual. Quick question, have you tried out using other blur options such as surface blur instead of Gaussian blur? Are there any advantages of using one over the other? Would love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks.

Thank you, great however I was unable to stop the action and press Record as PS said I was using the Action? Have been using PS a while and never used Actions - great to learn about them! You explain so well.

Great video as always! How does this compare to high pass (which is what I use for output sharpening for photographic prints) In your opinion, what sharpening method is best for prints?
reply

what is the difference between your method and unshap mask tool? i couldnt see any difference with same values. unsharp mask is very easy, fast and has more controls.

Hi Unmesh. Good tutorial as usual. But what about make new one with using Surface blur filter. It's very complicated for me to figure out how to set it up. )

btw the way your mike sits in front of you and your jacket string made it look like you had a tie on. I am thinking you sure are dressed sharp today

use the sharpen in Light and dark Mode. this is a wrong action. you are lighting the lighten and darking the darken and get a brilliant result.

I never quite understood how adding a blur made things sharper? In theory. I know it works, but not why it works. Thanks for the explanation.

Great video Unmesh! But what's the difference between using this technique and use the normal sharpen? What makes it better to use it?
reply

please explain what vivid light mode is doing along with the gaussian blur. Not everyone viewing this is above novice level.
