As per my knowledge level best for 32 bit images and curve never works with 32 bit images. With high depth image you can use only level. So I think level is much stronger than curve level bestfor gamma correction

calculator is nice analogy, I've always used levels because most editing I do is quick and dirty, but will play with curves a little more - thanks!
