I've been having a long-standing issue of Pen Tool delay. It will take 5 - 10 seconds before it will even consider putting it down. It only happens after extended use of Photoshop and I am 90% sure this was all I needed to do. I often have 3 or 4 projects going on at once due to how my workflow is as I often start a project, and management tend to need something very urgently, so I'll quickly create a piece and send it out, then resume work on the previous project whilst they review the item sent. So as I go to use the pen tool again it's completely bonked.
If this works Pix, I will digitally kiss you for solving this issue I've been having for YEARS now.

Oh my God you just saved my whole night. Ive been working on an incredibly detail digital art piece and I could not color at all because the lag was so bad. It got to the point that I would get the loading icon while the computer sluggishly tried to catch up. After following your directions, CS6 is running brilliantly once again. Now I can finish my picture without frustration anymore.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you so much! I also want to thank you for getting right to it instead of dragging on for ten minutes over a two minute fix.

I've an issue that's a bit more frustrating. My computer has 16 gigs of ram and a cpu/gpu combo that should NOT have trouble with a 3-layer 600x600p image.
The problem is where I click, and the click registers about a second later, but rest of the drawing is not laggy at all. It's just the initial click, where if I keep moving the mouse from one point to another, it just snaps from that point to the one when the input is registered. This is driving me up to wall and I can't fix it, please, please help.

I was using Photoshop just fine. A couple of days back I reinstalled windows and now the photoshop keeps lagging. Just after opening Photoshop the entire computer memory ( harddisk and ssd) gets full with temporary files and I cannot do anything. It just freezes the system. Photoshop uses more than 90 %ram even after setting the ram preference to use only 70%. How can I solve this problem? Please help

I've updated latest windows patches suitable for 20H2. So can you please tell why I'm facing this issue (Photoshop Slow or hanging?

I just had this problem and thought it was my computer, what fixed the brush for me though was the fact that I didnt realize i had smoothing on in brush settings even though smoothing was shown to be off at the top of my photoshop bar. hopefully this helps someone else with the same issue of brush lag.

Ps photoshop me in photo editing process is continue then phtoshop is freez and not work and over all close ps photoshop program and agin re open photoshop and agin work to first strting to new for first most problem is in working process photoshop is stopped. please solution bro. please

Hey on a new fresh session with only 2 layers when I use camera raw I see kinda lag when I scroll up and down on the camera roll settings panel why is that? I have a good cup and 16gb Ram. I think is more of a software problem

I'm switching from my autodesk sketchbook to photoshop for my digital art. I don't encounter lag in sketchbook in painting large image but in photoshop seems inconvenient, lots of brush lag even small details of painting.

This was one of the first thighs they teaches us in college, more than 10 years later and photoshop is still not optimised. But hey adobe want say no to take your money for they buggy outdated software.

Purging doesn't solve all the lagging issue. On the other hand, I have a high-end pc & Photoshop still lags for me while working. So It's not my system either. Sorry, but this video doesn't help at all.

Unfortunately, this did not work for me. After working awhile the brush or pencil or for that matter any tool lags increasingly. The computer performance has not changed only something in PS CS6

Her man question. If I make image size resolution smaller to work and edit in photoshop then when Im done I increase image size back to original big rresolution, will it be same quality?
