Utter garbage. None of those examples constitute usable shots and they're all possible within 1 minute on Lightroom. For example, applying a Gaussian blue to the entire background? Turning the sky purple and blowing out the highlights with luminosity and applying an obviously fake lens flare? Amateurish at best. Don't get me started on sky replacement which is the biggest gimmick of all. If you're a photographer and relying on fake sky to get ahead, quit now, because you are NEVER going to make it.
All this is just media hype for Luminar, but anyone who has already used the software knows that it's unusable for dedicated workflows and most of it's advanced features are pure gimmicks that do nothing but absolutely butcher your images. Just download Luminar and try it yourself, it's hilariously bad, especially the optimisation and rendering speed.

Thank you PiXimperfect for the amazing video!
I would like to ask for help from you guys and sorry for my unprofessional terminology in advance. My friends are shooting a DIY music video and they want to have the following composition of layers in the video:
1. A timelapse video of a field during the day, from the morning until the evening in the background layer
2. The band in the foreground layer shot as green screen video at normal speed so not a timelapse
Putting these on top of eachother would result in unnatural and ugly. They would need software for videos something like Luminar AI to make the video look natural in terms of colors and lightning. Are you aware of any workflow or plugin for Adobe Aftereffects or Premiere which could be used to achieve a nice result? Thank you!

Hi man, i have seen luminar for portrait & landscape caps, but can it take action or group photo? Sud AI said kan keep the body size proportionally, how about when it goes to group photo? For example on the wedding. Women tend to like their body slimmer, but when we put her together with her spouse or fams, i think her original size will be shown. Do you think?
I goes AI doesnt belong for action photo such as sport photo right?
It tends to fashion & lanscape.
Anyway, luminar is a great escape from PS subs model. I cant find info for background removal

I think this is great if you deal with composite photography, but other than that and maybe saving a photo that you would would otherwise throw away, I feel like there is a line between taking a photo that captures a moment in time and one where you create a moment in time that never existed.

The technology is great, really. But you can't say that you're an artist If you used a tool like that. It completely removed the ART in one's journey in Photography. That's the AI's vision, not completely ours anymore. But maybe it can help others understand ART, with the help of the AI? lol.

I have this software still learning the ins and outs. I use it along with affinity photos to create composite photos. It works great on some things but not on everything need. They are coming out with a new version in a couple of months called neo. I'll wait to see what it can do.

Awesome technology. But sadly there will be not jobs for photographers or photo retouchers. Technology has replaced so many jobs and sadly looks like photography will endup the same way. Theres talk of software that matches the image your trying recreate. We have become to smart.
reply

THIS IS INFOMERCIAL. the program is slow and sluggish. Everything they offer can be found on affinity or photoshop. Not to mention their 30 day money back guarantee which you have to fight for and look how to contact them just so you can get your money back. DO NOT BUY IT

Just a quick reminder, photography means writing with light. I don't know what this is but certainly not photography, and this has nothing to do with the fact that I am a film photographer, I believe no matter the gear you are using, photography is only about light.

To all the skeptics. Every single pro photo you see on the internet has been edited like crazy. Do your research. Check out movie editing. If everybody went to see the original Star Wars before editing you wouldn't have a 4 billion dollar franchise. Give me a break.

If you are a creative professional and you are worried this AI is going to replace you, or let others with less experience catch up to you, then you aren't innovating. This tool is just replicating common patterns, so why not make new ones?
reply

This presumably is about luminar 4 but luminar AI, the latest version, is out December 15. Both use AI, which is confusing, but we can assume luminar AI has improved features. So my advice would be to hold out for this latest version.
reply

Why, why, WHY does it have to have a feature that slims down a model and corrects skin imperfections? It makes me irrationally angry that there exists a feature specifically designed to correct a person's body. That is disgusting
reply

This horrid CRAP is an affront to the very concept of 'natural beauty. ' And it makes the activity of photography completely pointless.
SHAME on you for pimping this abomination.

reply

Well I'm already against Photoshop. and now this bullsht
Sadly it is The death of this art form, which was already getting ruined these past few years

reply

These kind of technologies will lead to unemployment, only this company will get richer and richer but many editors will loose their jobs thats sad
reply

Am I the only one who finds those AI edits cheap / beginner level? It's like people overdoing HDR with their iphones. still a lot of work to do!
reply

Hooray generic edits with no personality. Surely the point of photography, and editing is to convey your take on a feeling.

This guy sounds like he called me yesterday from Microsoft to fix my computer because a virus stole my credit card number.
