The Impossible Sit-Up (CAN YOU DO A REP)

up for your abs may come pretty darn close. The impossible sit up is one of the absolute hardest ab exercises to perform, and the simplest to look at. This deceptively easy sit-up is made difficult by the way in which you do it. In this video, I show you how to perform an advanced version of the Janda sit-up for your abs. The traditional variation of this ab exercise allows you to anchor your feet under something while performing it. In this exercise, you are not allowed to place your feet under anything and you must keep your toes flat on the ground the entire rep. When you avoid lifting the toes you prevent the anterior tibialis muscles from granting you the slight leverage needed to lift your torso off the ground during the crunch. This makes a huge difference. Alternatively, you could dig your heels into the ground with your legs out a bit straighter, and find this sit up version to become much easier. The added weight of your legs out in front of you gives you more leverage and counter balance to be able to execute the sit up easier. This impossible ab exercise is definitely something that someone will be able to do. That said, it-s going to take a tremendous amount of ab and core strength to pull it off. The Impossible Sit-Up Challenge ========================= See if you can execute one rep of the impossible sit-up! Challenge your friends by making sure to click share beneath the video or simply posting it on Facebook and calling out someone to try it. It-s ok if you want to throw in a little friendly trash talk as well. We can always use a little extra motivation. Share on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ ===============================

I'm 15 (been working on my core for 3 years) and I think I'm doing it right, but I can't knock out 3 sets of 15 and that's like a solid work out for me. I think I might be doing it wrong, but to be fair I do regular sit ups with 40 pounds on me on an angle in sets of 40, so I'm not sure- can someone link me to a video with a full description in detail of what to do and how it should look like? I want to actually get a good workout from this and don't wanna screw up my back or smth

i dont understand this video because i can do this sit up easy maybe im unintentionally using muscules to do easily or my core is really strong but im a kid im only 14 so i think my under developed body makes it easier because its smaller or just not finished i guess or maybe because im double joint/really flexable but in werid ways so im really unsure why i can do this so easily?

I am not a body builder. I do not have insane muscles. I am actually quite skinny. I tried this and made sure that everything was correct. Still. I managed to do it. I think that factors like leg weight and upper body weight really affects the excersice. I have a quite light upper body but have heavy legs. Perhaps that's why I was able to do it.

For my boxing class we have to do 70 of these except we keep our hands on our legs and only have to move our wrists above the knees and hold for one second. I literally couldn't even do one once I realized the proper form. Now I can do some but damn, I thought I was weak despite pulling off thousands of crunches no problem.

Sorry, but this is not the impossible sit-up. I saw P Diddy do -Executive Sit-ups- on TV years ago. He was showing how his trainer helped him get washboard abs. Maybe he used the techniques in this video, but he starts from the situp position and stands. I've been trying to do this since I saw him do it.

that is how i do them and i just don't go fully up, i thought that is how you are supposed to do them so you only go partially up like you did. only difference is my hands are in my chest and try to keep my neck straight (i think the point is to use your abs only as far as you can)

Wait a sec!
I do 100 of these every day! I didn't know they were this hard!
I just did regular sit-ups every day, Then i saw someone do this in a cartoon, So i tried it, It was more difficult then the normal ones, But it wasn't impossible!

if im allowed to use my arms to swing me up no problemo, can do as many as i want, just a matter of speed and coordination. With the arms behind the neck now thats a challenge, need to give it a try. Let you know asap, but think its doable.

I've been working out my abs 6 times a week for the past 2-3 years. I started with your 7 min abs workout Jeff and kept adding my own exercises. I can weirdly do this, i cant say its too hard but definetly a harder exercise. Thanks jeff

Jeff, what's the difference, esp. in progresssion/regresssion, between this and the Janda sit-up publicized by Pavel? Seems to work on the same concept, but yours has no posterior anchor behind the calves as the Janda does. Thanks.
