It-s EPIC Leg Day! I love playing with tempos. with weights, running, HIIT and even variations of tempo training in ab workouts! Tempo variations make you aware of imbalances, increase awareness of alignment, help improve form due to massive control involved & highlighting of weaknesses and can lead to those gains in strength and greater ROM! All you will need for this leg workout is a pair of dumbbells, however there are extra equipment you can utilise if you have access to such as a chair for Bulgarian lunges (if you prefer not to use chair, simply perform revalue lunges) and a toga block/book for to elevate front foot during lunges for larger range of motion! The dumbbells I am using for your reference are 12. 5kg each, I am also using x1 25kg dumbbell for the squats. The following are performed for the following tempos 1-4-1 (hold at bottom for approx count 4) 4-1-1 (slow lowering for approx count 4) 1-1-4 (slow concentric on way up) We perform each tempo variation for 1 minute each exercise with 30 seconds rest in between! Sumo squat High squat Sumo deadlift squat Bulgarian lunges Foot elevated lunges Forward lean lunges We then move to more dynamic moments for 1 minute per side. Lunge to staggered squat The finisher is a full 1 minute 3 seconds of sumo squats with holds, pulses, half reps finishing with bodyweight only! This is a very challenging workout! It is up to you to really challenge yourself, breath and relax into the movements! Focusing on your positioning when lowering, holding and lifting! Your entire lower body will be working extremely hard in this session! I know you all love a challenge and here it is!

I would like to say that I enjoyed this, but while it was happening all I could think about was breathing and trying really hard not to fall over - In hindsight, I do realise how much fun this was so thank you, Caroline for another ripper!
I didn't go as heavy as I could have today, but I'm glad that gave me more space to focus on form and also, I stopped counting after a while and just used my music to pace myself - keeping count with so much to focus on is really tough but hopefully that will become easier with time as well.
Hope everyone is staying safe and strong!
Much love from South Africa

Because of the title and the comments I was expecting a super hard workout- so I didn-t do it the day just after Days 36 and 37 because of a big day of work and my muscles were already sore, did a quick 30 minutes yoga instead. Now I did it and it felt super easy to me, using kettlebells the same weight and going at the exact same pace and range as Caroline-s- I guess the lesson is never fear a workout because of others, we each have our own way to react, and trust Caroline-s schedule which are super on point! Really liked the control and depth of the movements in this one.

Honestly, I didn't like today's workout and struggled through it. I didn't feel my legs breaking but my heart was pumping like crazy, so I got more of a cardio than leg day. Tempo training just isn't my thing I guess. But hey, you can't like every single day in an awesome programme like this one. For those of you struggling through today like me, you aren't alone, and if I can do it, you can too! Let's fight on together!

huffing and puffing I said, -that one sucked- then proceeded to hit the like button lol the irony! I guess the endorphins swooped in just in time -

I did not use a chair for the workout today as dumbbells were heavier 12. 5kg each, wanted to concentrate on correct form to. Thanks Caroline.

Well, I would be lying if I said I was enjoying this, but I'm definitely happy I made it to the end without quitting! -
