IceCream4PRs Podcast Episode 13 - Grow Your Following & Dealing with Online Negativity Greg Doucette: Its a lot more common for younger people to worry about being compared to other people. When you get older you will realize that does not matter at all. Its about being happy and being the best you can be is what should motivate not being better then others. Ill always find people better then me especially with today's technology as we are aware of everyone now. When I was growing up there was no comparisons I never saw anyone who looked or was stronger. People just need to stop caring so much about anyone else and just themselves. I never even won my 1st powerlifting meet and a female out deadlifted me. We all need to just stop giving a Fu abotu what others think of us. I choose to be lean because ME MYSELF AND I like it. If it never made me happy I would not do it.

My limited experience what peopel like on social media. If I'm in my underwear doing anything I get more likes then if I deadlift over 700 or bench over 500 lbs. People want to see a lot of skin. My gf who just really started training last year almost has as many followers as I do and I'm a well known pro in 2 sports. She gets as many likes as I do so being well known or even at an elite level is also not that important. I think people like to see progress a lot. the also want to follow what they think might be the next big thing.

First off you guys are very smart in your podcasts. I have been listening to about all of them for the last few weeks. For me I only post what I want and this seriously had me going through my Instagram looking closer at statistics. I love you guys and the accents always remind me of my trips to blind river in Ontario. Canadians seem to always be happy and willing to help out Thanks for the content. Keep it up

powerlifting is awesome. Its not like a fitness competition. People are ALL supportive. There are so many age groups weights classes and categories that bsacially almost everyone wins BUT ITS NOT ABOUT WINNING. Its about beating your own lift and self improvement. I have competed well over 50 times. I rarely set a PR its fun. If I make the lift I want its a bonus.
