Interesting on shoulders. Delts get hit a lot already via chest and back workouts. Wouldn't you agree Often I can feel my delst getting slammed on those days. I feel like they already get high volume.
I agree that delts rarely get sore. Biceps as well.
Are you going to failure I know guys like Dorian Yates and Mike Mentzer suggest much less volume and frequency.
Shoulder training is tough for me due to years of training and calcifeand bone spurs. I've built plenty of mass in my 37 years of training. Full range of motion is tough for me.

For tip #3 this is not great advice. if you're a complete beginner you'll probably be able to progress by adding 5LBs for maybe a few weeks (likely not because shoulder strength makes smaller jumps compared to other muscles/lifts. What he's recommending is called singular progression(only progressing weight) look up double progression if you don't know what that is already(progresaing reps and sets. If you want to keep it in a rep range with more strength focus simply do double progression at lower rep ranges like the 5-8 range

It’s like the third video where Jeff has stated that side delts activate in shoulder presses when talking about growing the side delts. But EMG amplitude measures neural activation, not mechanical tension, and these are not necessarily proportional. There’s a bunch of research showing the correlation is weak. You can’t measure tension (and thus hypertrophy potential) with EMG. Even though you have a small note about it on the video, I still find it misleading. This needs to be tested further

IMHO the main consideration to decide whether you want to build your upper traps (intentionally) at all is the length of your clavicles. If yours are on the shorter side, and you want to achieve some sort of a V-taper, you may want to pour majority of your efforts into your delts, otherwise you may end up looking like your head is attached directly to your pecs, with arms sticking out below your ears.

11: 40 swapping the exercise out when it starts the get hard and you cannot progress each week will just plateau you. You are just making neural gains until there is none to be made anymore. You are better off sticking to it and grinding it out for a long ass time until you just don’t like the exercise as much anymore/begins to hurt/ gets stale and you want to swap it out.

The progression system I think works too I did this with my incline bench press recently since I started my weightlifting journey again and I went from doing 135lb to doing 205lb on the incline bench press in about 1 1/2 months maybe 1 3/4 months. But I am 6'4 and had prior lifting experience where my flat bench was 325lb in High School so I'm sure muscle memory plays a part.

Just here to shout out how good Macro Factor is. I lost 25 pounds (185 -> 160) in 6 months after previously trying and failing (with a trainer) for three years. I still use it on and off for specific shorter term goals, and I recommend it to everyone as the magic bullet for losing weight. Seriously, thank you, and so worth the money. I can't wait for the weights app!

don't really agree with 8: 55 (sweep arm across body for cable lateral raise, after 90 degrees the tension will just go through the arm rather than delt. Peak tension on side delt is at 90 degrees. For e. g. it's more challenging to isometrically hold there then to isometrically hold at past 90 degrees across the body

If you’re in your 20s or 30s and think your energy’s fine, it’s not. Do yourself a favor and read book called TestoGenesis Protocol by Angelico. It’s the kind of stuff no doctor or influencer ever talks about. Pure truth about testosterone and how to keep it strong for life.

I still watch these even though I don't have goals to get jacked, it's still so helpful on how to do things properly and what workouts I could do even though my goal is to stay as a twunk. These have helped my shoulder work outs a lot, in ways I needed it to progress.

Jeff, lifters have been adding weight for 70 years, you're not telling us anything. If a lifter doesn't see improvement after 12 weeks, time to change. As far as starting with the shoulders down, the weight will pull them down. Scientifically your getting old
reply

If you could actually do what you recommend for shoulder press, 5lbs added every week, you'd gain over 200lbs on your press in a year. Not happening. You're wrong and either lying or, well, yeah. Feel free to delete my comment like you do so many others.

BS science you can literally have two different case studies or something that literally say the exact opposite of five others and then science guys like this like to pick and choose what they want so it optimizes their results their plans their thoughts

I had to come back to let you know that the scooping technique for the lateral raises is revolutionary! My shoulders are so sore and like you said, that rarely happens! It made me realize how much my traps were helping when I did lateral raises! Thankyou!
reply

Why Jeff why What what is going on the ending was like the f You are literally targeting every single possible head of the shoulder by doing a basic over head press lateral raises and rear self movement. It is truly that simple.
reply

No one can add weight every single week for a year on anything. This is just nonsense. If people just worried about training hard and recovering they wouldn’t rely on this click bait. There’s nothing new here, at all.
reply

Maybe you can get someone to develop and AI tool for your muscle lab to help people see what they would look like at different levels of body fat and muscle mass to help them have a vision of their goals
reply

10: 10 uhhh based on my experience, I don't think I can do that linear progression. I mean I'm lifting for a year now and yet I can't lift 50kg dumbbell shoulder press, let alone 30kg
reply

Looking at the vid thumbnail and your hair, I was sure the 7 things were:
1, 100 push ups
2. 100 sit ups
3. 100 squats
4.
5.
6.
7. 10km run every day

reply

4: 01 to 5: 00 is horrible advice. For most people a little weight is 5 pounds, since that’s the smallest jump available at most gyms. No one can progress like that for a year.
