If youre looking to maximize protein synthesis and enhance muscle recovery, then you need to be considering what you eat before the gym (pre workout meal. Recent research showing that a pre workout meal consisting of adequate protein and carbs leads to better muscle protein synthesis and strength gains, and researchers are starting to consider pre workout nutrition as being even more important than post workout nutrition when it comes to building muscle. Now keep in mind that the pre workout meal for bodybuilders or those lifting weights will differ dramatically from endurance exercise athletes. In our case, we are mostly concerned with getting in high quality fast digesting leucine-containing pre workout protein, as well as moderate-high glycemic index pre workout carbs with minimal fibre in order to boost performance and create an anabolic environment to further boost muscle gains. In this video Ill go through the best pre workout meal based on several studies, and provide you guys with some other options for pre workout meals that you can use to help get more bang for your buck in every workout. As always

There is not one best pre-workout meal it depends on length of the workout. Let's say your workout is a three to four-hour technical hike verses 1 hour in the gym. My all-time favorite pre-workout gym meal is half yam, half a sweet potato and a tablespoon of honey mash with caffeine. You got fast-medium and slow burn carbs. During the workouts you can drink one scoop of protein per liter diluted down in your water so it's not too thick but you're still getting the benefit of protein.

No need to apologize for anything! Well you should be proud of yourself for being able to balance your life in a positive manner and still have time to make a video which I really appreciate. I am just glad to be alive and back in the gym after I got hit by a distracted driver and then went into a coma for three weeks afterwards. My doctor told me that if I had not been in such good shape I wouldve never survived. Well that which doesnt kill me makes me stronger

So I most likely would take whey before workout, however I take whey after workout. Are you suggesting I take a scoop before workout and a scoop after, goal is slow lean bulk? The time between both scoops would be about 2: 30 - 3 hours since first scoop/meal would be 45 to 1 hour before workout and second scoop would be after training session when I get home. Thank you!

The meal you showed is fantastic, well done. My favorite now is chocolate rice cakes, a banana, and whey protein mixed with my creatine dose. Quick, light, and no cooking. Also whey is generally cheaper than carton egg whites if you buy in bulk.

The most easiest to digest protein source is raw meat and cooked meat contains heterocyclic amines causes your cells to mutate (cancer) so people who dont have enzyme mutation ability this might be you only natural choice.

no one in the world will ever have more energy to train in a fasted state vs eating a preworkout meal 2 hours before training. fasted state is the same as driving a car near empty. simply does not have the same performance

Every single whole food has protein and carbs (and fat depending) in it. You don't have to mix proportionately higher protein foods with proportionately higher carbohydrate foods to eat protein and carbs together.

Any recommendations on how long to wait after eating the recommended meal before lifting? I think one study mentioned 30 min, but I'm not clear on if that's the consensus. Thanks for the great videos!

4: 06 so to keep it simple fats play virtually no role in contributing to your workout Oh boy! Better not tell that to the keto sheep who think fat is the messiah and carbs are the devil incarnate.
