How Tom Cruise faked his 6 min breath hold Jimbo2. 0: Question. Ive been practicing on dry land lying down. I find that when I fill my lungs as much as I can its kind of painful to hold it in because of the pressure. Im wondering if its easier to hold under water because the water pressure will slightly compress the chest making, the feeling of pressure of the air wanting to escape less and thus more comfortable. Hope this makes sense. Thanks! Videos are great.

As Tom Cruise is also a producer on MI, he is probably busy enough already than to train for several month. Being the producer and financing the show allows him to do all the stunts, otherwise it would never be allowed. On other movie actors have running doubles, because that's consider too risky already.

Could you wear a heartrate monitor (cheststrap for exapmle) at one of your breathholds to illustrate how it changes during the breathhold? Would be interesting to see if if changes when the contractions start and how high it is during the end. Love you content! cheers: )

I saw an interview or nightshow of him talking on that subject. I think its a little unfair not to talk about that obviously important fact. But your analogy with Arnold saying he is natural seems very fitting.

FAKE. There is a group of people in the southern Philippines that can hold the air in their lungs while under water BUT WITH TOM CRUISE. IT HAS TO BE HOLLYWOOD TRICK. IF HE CAN DO IT; WE CAN ALL DO IT TOO.

I think you nailed it. Tom might have achived an active scene with more than 6 min breath hold by breathing 100% oxygen. A fake stunt.

To put into prospective. Static apnea world record (aida) 11: 54. 100% oxygen static apnea record (NOT aida) 24: 03.
