Interested in the 100 workout program? Dawson: From my learning experience, the technique and swimming speed are linked together. 1 breath half way in the water: you cant do that unless your speed has reach a certain level. Otherwise, you drink water. 2 efficient of high elbow catch: you need to have certain strength to see the full benefit of doing it. 3 when you are tired, your legs start to sink and everything falling apart because your speed starts to slow significantly. I have average speed of 224 per 100 meter for 1000 meters none stop. I am sure most of the people watching this video is way faster than me.

the way I perfected the freestyle back in the day is this: think of your torso as a floating log, rolling left-to-right then right-to-left. Just like a log, both ends move very little vertically. At the end of one of the rolls, your head creates a wake that you can take a breath from. Trust me, makes a huge difference.

pretty big generalization. for beginner swimmers yes they need to focus on staying underwater, but as you get more advanced you want to be high in the water. in literally every stroke hips should stay near the surface

As a freediver this was the realization that made me back then switch from surface to underwater swimming
I used to feel anxiety bc of fear of drowning but i got completely ride of it and became fast underwater

In the sea with waves you never swim underwater. Only in the pool. Because the moment you are about to take a breath you can shallow water from the wave. That's why in the sea we swim above the water

I learned to swim when my mother threw me into the deep end of the pool, basically saying Swim or die so uh. i dont swim very efficiently. Im using these to correct my weird ass swimming methods

How can beginners swim underwater without sinking down? If speed is needed, only well trained bodies can bring needed energy to keep speed up, am I right?

So i guess swimming on the back is best if you want to swim long distances? But what is the best technique to swim on your stomatch for long distances?
reply

My whole life I've sucked at floating and treading water. I just seem to sink all the time. But I'm a water rat to the n degree: )

My favorite sport, but of all the the styles I just couldn't do backstroke correctly I can't seem to get the proper technique.

I watched a thousand videos so far on how to master swimming, I think now I am ready for next Olympics
reply

I'm sorry. But swimming above the water is MUCH faster. But you need to be above the water from speed
