I have just learn that some Japanese villages have survived the 2011 Tsunami because there were monuments built by survivors of early Tsunamis. These monuments are simple markers to show often the limits of Tsunamis. There will be some dwellings built in the Tsunami zones. These dwelling are likely meant to be used overnight. The Japanese do their best not to build permanent beach housing due to Tsunamis. A lot of wildfires which are cause by PG&E can be prevented by the company building underground cables. PG&E is a private company. If it wants to be a good company, it should its best to prevent wildfires connected to its overhang lines. Some wildfires cause by PG&E are cause by overgrown brush in the right of way of large power lines. Oddly, PG&E can save a lot of money by removing the excessive brush in the right of ways. Underground cables can be useful in the right areas. While underground cables are expensive to built, the costs of building will be worth it. PG&E can save money from underground because trees and brushes tend to be conduits of electricity. A lot of electricity produced is wasted by things like overgrown brushes in the power line right of ways.

Something that should be added for this is how the power company neglects maintaining their power lines, and the areas around their power lines, and with some fires like the camp fire (i believe the forests wearn't maintained, i could be wrong on this one, or the one in elderado county in california a few years ago, the forests aren't maintained so they are very prone to fires and can make it worse.

Thank you I would love if we would return to Blockrandbebauung (Building houses at the Street of any Block with Gardens/Parks Inside) with at least three Stories tall. Since that would reduce our Land usage by a large Amount and public Transport via Streetcars/Tram while still enabling Contact with nature

So you basically want to get rid of almost everything that makes the suburbs great (large homes, big lawns, neighbors that are further away, more privacy and better views due to vegetation) and replace it with a bunch of townhomes for divorced men in their 40s and poor people?

California: Dangerously underfunds forest services for 50+ years, resulting in zero controlled burns in majority of wildlandsCalifornia: Has costliest wildfires in history as a direct result of poor wildland managementCalifornia: This is global warming's fault Nobody in government is to blame

01: 35 Hallelujah Finally, somebody with a brain is brave enough to say this. Say it again Say it loud Let all the idiots please finally understand this. Fires are natural Fires are healthyDont want your house to burn down? Stop building your home in the line of (literal) fire. Genius.

What are your thoughts on rebuilding Paradise? On one hand, it will happen again eventually, but on the other hand rebuilding can heal the emotional trauma (among other benefits.

California's hypocrisy is incredible, being all eco friendly, having cities like LA with massive sprawl. Then building in dangerous areas. Unbelievable.

Baltimore has been doing a great job at using infill development, thanks to vast amount of vacant, underdeveloped, abandoned and brownfield land available.

If only city representatives in California managed Better their towns, instead of with holding resources like power so the risk of fires is minimal
