A viewer asked if we ever participated in type 1 fun. This video is a response to that question. Yes we occasional do things that aren't a total suffer fest. In this episode we hike our skis up Mount Timpanogos and skim across Emerald Lake. I think Emerald Pond would be a better description but either way I feel like this was a sold attempt at some type one fun. Some music provided by: Godrocket

Skied the Timpanogos Glacier back in November, I had a ski slide down onto the surface of Emerald Lake, not sure how thick the ice was, so I did not retrieve it, while I was removing it. I will attempt to retrieve it next summer when the snow melts. It is a blue colored Black Crows ski, with a green colored Dynafit binding. Hopefully I can retrieve it this summer.

I hiked Timp about 10 days after this. I think you timed it perfect to be able to ski as far down as you did. The snow on the cirque has been melting fast. And the huge avalanche area at the bottom of the cirque has been rocky since at least May anyway. Great video! And your poor skis! :)

Thanks for keeping simple and entertainment! I'm jealous about the outdoors in that kind of weather! I live in Hawaii, at almost 90 deg, 99 % humidity level and the sun just scorching! almost impossible to be outside after 8: 30 am!

Nice! At Alyeska ski resort in Girdwood AK, They build their own pond and have the slush run every spring. Very entertaining to see the people crashing into the frigid water. A few make it all the way across.

Danny you are the greatest, I have went so many wonderful places because you have taken me there. Thank you so much! You have more energy than a 3 month old puppy.

Another type 1 production. That stop you made with the Heli looked a lot like the small pond that develops in the bowl beneath Twin, Dromedary and Sunrise Peaks.

How do yall not have at least 140k yet? I dont get it. Perfect quality.
Maybe its because you dont upload crap everyday to get pushed.

Cool video. Seems like the tip of the iceberg on this type of video. Call up Devinsupertramp and collab with him on an Alpine pond skim video.

What date was this? Trying to time this for as much type 1 fun as possible. Was very hot this last week so I'm hopeful it's a go?

I will do that all day long! Let's get back up there! The sign of a Type 1 day. Great video Danny, one of your best!

I haven't pond skimmed since 1995 and back then it was long skinny skis. Hella Fun. Looks even more fun on wide skis.

That was great, nice to see you have a chill day with no running along rock spines with a plunge to either side!
