Great video, especially the 'closed' part. Good call. I can see why the authorities putting up a trail closed sign, and I can see (and have done it myself) why you pressed on. You know what you're doing, and you're right 'This is what we do. ' Great point, The trail is closed, but the mountain is not. Fans from rock slides can be slippery, but a manageable risk.
I'm sure there are situations (many) where I'd turn around and you guys wouldn't even slow down. That's cool. What keeps us all reasonably safe is knowing our limitations, applying Ed Visteur's principle, Summiting is optional, returning safely is mandatory, but always getting out there.
I have to hike this route. It looks absolutely amazing. Thanks.

Stunning, I'm speechless and all I have to see is your blog. You guys actually got to experience, feel and smell the ambiance of God's special place on earth. I figured out how I can beat you. I invite you to the empire state building and I'll race you down. You see I got over 100 lbs. on you and I always wanted to be a smash on broadway. Love the problem-solving tip to the rest of us, the trail might be closed but the mountain is not. take any of life's roadblocks and just enlarge the parameters until the roadblock is reduced to a mere suggestion.

do you like thistles on your socks? try climbing mount mitsikeli in ioannina, greece. do you like to sleep with priceless view and bleeting sheep? sleep at Nordkette Innsbruck station at 1700m elevation. next day you can conquer the kaminspitzen, through the via ferrata or up the loose rock gully. I've done the latter with mushy profile boots that I dumpstered from a clothing container, yes. its been a glorious summer.

So nice to see you hike this. Did it two years ago, when the path was still open. When you decided to go, I hoped that it wouldn't be the bridge towards the end they disassembled, but it looks like it was just a few sections where rock avalanches damaged the path. sure hope they open it up again, I was planning to do it with the kids, maybe next year.

Everytime I hike in Colorado I get this same experience. I camped outside of Silverton last Summer and hiked up among several peaks. Everywhere I went, everywhere I looked I was amazed, literally slack jawed! The area of the Rockies we were at are known as 'Little Switzerland'.

I really love your content! It's really well shot for how much you guys are doing it seems like it would be a hassle to film all that and stay focused on the hikes and climbs. Curious I've noticed a lot of the super well placed drone shots what are you guys using for that?

There is NOTHING mediocre or amateurish about the Mediocre Amateur. I'm an older guy who once was a true mediocre amateur, who did lesser things than these fellows. I really enjoy seeing what these guys do in the great outdoors.

Hey, mediocre amateurs, Im part Swiss and I think that you cant fly a drone in Switzerland. I personally think its a bad rule, but its Switzerland, not America so you should obey the rules. Other than that, great video!

You did the right thing in my opinion, if you're so advanced along a trail, you're committed. I've done the same thing myself on a number of occasions and I've always found a way through without too much difficulty.

My hubby was Swiss. Wish we could have seen this beauty together before he died.
Although we would have been looking up from the road not down from the mountain.

I bet these guys would be really good at having bad mushroom trips. Which is a huge compliment obviously for anyone who knows what I'm talking about.

Awesome video. I like the expression the Trails closed but the mountains not. Half of what you we're running on I wouldn't consider a trail anyways.

Epic trail running, filming, and editing. I have no clue how you are able to bring it together so beautifully. Sad to see this trip end!

If the sign is in German, then the trail is only closed to German speakers, right? Oops, it said closed in English too. Never mind.
