Kyoto Travel Guide - The Best Things to Do in Kyoto for First-timers LaNoir: I'll always stick with rules if they make sense, but a photo ban? I get that it can get cluttered and you shouldn't hinder other people trying to walk by, but a photo ban is too much, especially at such a beautiful and historic place. It's important to preserve it as much as possible through photos, videos and paintings before something happens that destroys it forever (which isn't too unlikely)

Im an older woman with miner disabilities, Im on Oxycodone and Gabapentin prescribed by a doctor. What kind of difficulty will I have with medication? Did you and your wife get a matcha house in Kyoto? You were at a temple that had a tunnel of red painted logs with words written in Japanese; what were the words that were written?

Ive read a lot of articles/posts etc that going early in the day is recommended. Was just curious however if it was on your itinerary to see a couple temples and you have seen them all by midday lets say, how would you spend the rest of your day? Are the crowds just unavoidable? How you best structure your day to minimise crowds?

One can only deeply love and respect a country where people are both strong and gentle; polite, clean, respectful and devoted to the extreme. Japan, the sole country in the world inside which people can be both moved by the fatality of the sword and the overwhelming beauty of the cherry-tree flower.

Thank you so much for the video! We are going to Kyoto in two weeks. If we want to do everything you mentioned in Arashiyama, including the boat ride back to Kameoka, how long will it take? We will stay at a hotel near Kyoto station. What is the best way for us to get to Arashiyama?

Sounds like the perfect place for me to visit. I always travel light, enjoy just looking at architecture, always up at 6am on all my vacations so pretty sure Ill avoid the crowds, eat all day, love smaller cities and am content with doing nothing

What time of year does Kyoto have the least amount of people? I understand there will always be some amount of crowds, but I'm curious, as too many tourists can ruin the experience for me.

Thank you so much for your video. It's really helpful for the first-timers. Also, your video style is so professional that it felt like a documentary, with beautiful bgm and composing.

When you buy a card for 2000 yen does that mean that theres already 2000 yen worth of money already loaded on it? $20cad seems expensive for a piece of empty plastic if not
