I too took the Bainbridge Island ferry from Seattle. It was March, but the skies were cloudless and the weather was perfect. I will never forget my first view of Lake Crescent and the stunningly blue water. I also stopped in Port Angeles, but only briefly. I caught my first ground-level sight of Canada (as opposed to flying over) looking across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to Victoria, BC. I stayed the night in Port Townsend, an amazing small town with incredible historic architecture. I would love to go back.

My favorite place in the country is Sol Duc Falls. Have you been there yet? Its just past Crescent Lake. As beautiful as a waterfall can be. A lot of people have a poster of it so you have probably seen it. I have many photos! I tried to go to Marymere Falls this year since I can't do Sol Duc any more, expecting it to be same difficulty but shorter. When I got to the steep stairs, I was unable to climb the first one. Old hips and knees are failing me so no more hikes, just road trips.

Another challenging but rewarding hike. I love exploring Olympic National Park from both sides of the peninsula. Have traveled all around the Pacific Northwest with wonderful experiences but I have to say that the only place I have ever felt unwelcome was Bainbridge Island, which had a definite elitist vibe. The people I encountered there were not keen on tourists, to put it mildly, especially one with a dog. Thanks for another great adventure.

Thanks for all of your videos. You have given us the inspiration to keep travelling back to the USA and spend our tourist dollars. We did CA one month road trip of Nevada Arizona and Califonia based off your superb videos and we return to do Miami the Everglades and Keys in ten days. The US economy owes you a big thanks and we owe you huge for giving us the inspiration to have great vacations. Doing Smoky Mountains next year

We were there just a week and a half ago. We skipped Storm King because we were with the family, but we did the falls. Unfortunately there was a wedding photographer and a couple that went over the fence and were using a drone in front of the falls, so it ruined the view for everyone. I also think we stopped at that drive thru coffee shack, they had good mini donuts. Thanks for sharing your adventure.

My dad and I stayed at a cabin on crescent lake the year before he died. He had been a backpacker but the bone cancer made it hard for him to walk so we did a ton of driving around and looking at views near the car. We too had incredible oysters but not in sequoim but south bend in the southern part of the peninsula. Cash only but the best oysters Ive ever had. Thanks for sharing your adventures

I live in Port Angeles and I must must recommend next time you are up here go to the coast and do Cape Flattery, and then back to the 101 and go down to Ruby Beach and Kalaloch Beach Campground and see the tree of life! Also, I am a photographer and road tripper and there are a lot of amazing areas you will want to see in Oregon as well. This was a great video Through My Lens!

You missed Devil's Punch Bowl on the left-side of the tunnel you first walked thru! It is the length of the tunnel, crystal clear and saphire blue water as you cross the little bridge. Wonderful swimming spot in the summer. Absolutely love the Olympic Peninsula. Check out Port Townsend next time as well as the Finn River Cider Farm (incredible experience.

Nice views! When I was in Washington many years ago it was in September and a little rainy. You had great weather and it looked like a lot of fun! I think I would skip the oysters and maybe go for some kind of fish instead. I live in Florida but don't eat a lot of seafood. I love shrimp but not eating it to lower my cholesterol!

Wre hen going through Washington. don't forget to go to San Juan Islands and hike on Orcas Island. I live in Bellingham, Wa and we are lucky to be close to Mt. Baker too! There are many trails to see wildflowers to ice caves! Nice and dark to photograph the stars as well!

I climbed mt storm king last November for a school hiking club trip. It was fun, but the conditions were much less favorable than in this video. There was a lot of mist (which created slick rock, and the windspeed had to be something like 65mph. It was very sketchy.

Best sunset views approaching Seattle on Bainbridge ferry. I've killed time enjoying the island to get the timing right. Even better if you are in line first so you are at the front of the cardeck for final approach.

nice you finally made it to Olympic NP! Hopefully you got more time to get around it, Crescent is just scratching the very edge, get out there and check out the rest! Highly recommend Cape Flattery as well.

Really misleading video as it was mostly your Storm King climb. Hardly talked about much else to do there and only a single restaurant (and brief mention of coffee shop. Its a shame that more wasnt covered.

I lived in Southern California for years and watched a lot of your videos, and I moved to Seattle so it's nice to see you post something about Seattle. And I especially like your bro wearing a united jersey

Really enjoyed this and all of your videos.
Bonus fact
Under the Tacoma Narrows bridge live the largest octopuses in the world with an average 16' length and average weight of 132 pounds.

I wondered if any of Galloping Gertie remained, but it looks like they removed all of it when they made the new bridge. It looks like a nice workout hiking up Storm King.

Fantastic video! I first saw the video of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge undulating then collapsing in the wind during a high school physics class. Amazing to see!

Thanks! We had a VERY long drive out to the very disappointingly unremarkable Neha Bay. That's all I remember. Definitely going back to see it right next time!

Been waiting all week for a new watch. Yay! I have Olympic planned for July, all these same hikes - planning the lavender bloom in Sequim too.
reply

Thank you for noting that it isn't the true summit for Storm King, so many people get that wrong(and the true summit is a pain to reach)

Another great video. Thanks for the noom link and for filming that climb. Id be down at the waterfall. Downside - Its so crowded
