That was the best couple of hours in a long time (well since the last one. cant believe how much meat you guys ate, but so glad you had at least one healthy meal. get your cholesterol checked when you get home. Lots of fat in those pastries and meat. heart attack on a plate!
BTQ do you guys ever walk together. I always feel sorry for Pops he's either walking ahead or trailing behind trying to catch up. So many amazing things too many to mention but loved the Japanese gardens, the pace museum, the awesome fountains. thanks for sharing. BTW Josh that fruit cake was shop bought so oozing sugar. get your mum, nanna, aunty etc to make you a home made one they just dont compare. I adore fruit cake but dont ever eat or compare shop bought stuff. cheers from Western Australia. Oh Pops I knew what you were saying instu now sure about your pronunciation though. its pronounced 'IN SIT YOU'. meaning 'in the original place' I believe. or something like that without actually looking it up.

Love your road trip videos. We may have to take a trip to Texas and have a look around.
Re the president's assassination --- I guess I'm your dad's age---I was in the first grade/6 yrs old, when Kennedy was shot. Our family was on vacation in Jamaica. I remember people in the street crying. Our dad explained why so many were crying and upset. We were home soon after and I remember watching the funeral procession on tv (yep--B&W, the riderless horse with the backwards boots, the caisson, and John-John's salute. It's almost been 60 years, but still a vivid memory.

I'm sorry, but I like food as much as anyone, but to sit there for hours to wait for a bar-be-que place to open in the morning is, well quite honestly, a huge waste of time. And as far as the #1, #6 and so forth rated place is all subjective anyway. One of the best places in the state for top quality bar-be-que is in Lockhart, down east of San Antonio. You could have been a third of the way there in the time that you sat there waiting for the one in Fort Worth to open. Just saying. And all that time sitting there you could have been doing so many more fun things.

I cant thank you enough for this awesome video; I'm going to visit Texas next year to celebrate my birthday and took a lot of hints, ideas and tips from your video. One feedback, if I may; as I'm Italian and I'm travelling from Europe and language and lifestyle are different, in the future would be great if you could put the name of the place or location you go (for spelling or language barrier ) and the cost of how much you pay for food, it would be useful to have an idea of costs and expenses. Hope you don't mind my comment and again thanks for the great content.

I was standing on the traffic circle at the entrance of BIOLA University when another student ran up to me and said, John Kennedy was shot and is dead. I was standing there with a bucket in one hand and s squeegee in the other. I was working to pay my board and tuition. I remember standing there thinking, This is not supposed to happen in America. I grew up in Africa in a missionary home, and such things were expected in African nations, not in America.

You were generous giving Whataburger an 8 and 7. 8. The burger tastes as if it was boiled. Tasteless. Fries are nothing special, onion rings slightly better. If you put ketchup on the burger the burger will taste like a ketchup sandwich. I'd rather a Sonic and that ain't sayin' much. I live in Texas and figure they must have been a whole lot better quite a few years ago to have grown. We have one in town and haven't been to it for at least 4 years.

If you want to truly experience the River Walk in San Antonio, you have to go in December. On the first part of the River Walk (over by the River Center Mall, they string tons of colored lights in the trees, and line the sidewalks with luminarias (basically paper bags with candles in them -- a very traditional Spanish Christmas tradition. As pretty as it is at night most of the year, Christmas on the River Walk is 20 times prettier.

I was in the 7th grade walking between classes and over the intercom it was announced for us to stop immediately and then announced our president had been shot and killed. We all were in shock. Then I got home off the bus and found out our dog major had been killed by a hit and run driver. It just devastated me. Not happy memories at all. Since then have had many losses. I am 72 years old now and enjoying your road trip.

Glad yall enjoyed your trips to Texas. This one was definitely not your first. All the major cities in Texas have two things in common traffic and good restaurants. Yall should come back and do a backroads video. There are so many FM and RR that have great scenery, spring fed rivers and cool towns with good food. Good video thanks for sharing!

I lived in Dallas in the early 70's then again in the mid 80's. Loved it but I would never go back because the great BBQ isn't worth putting up with the politics. Just my opinion but for me Sonny Bryan's was the best for BBQ and Henck's or La Madeleine for pastries/deserts. Saw Jerry Jeff Walker at Billy Bob's and Elvis at the Civic Auditorium.

It is the first week of August in Texas and I think we have had about 1000 days of 100 degrees or higher so far. Well, not 1000 days, but I would not be surprised if it was 45-50 so far. It got to 108 degrees where I am today and no end in sight. Love Texas? Try to say that in the summer time. It is called scorched Earth.

I was in 2nd grade in 1962. Principal came in and whispered something to teacher. She looked aghast and told us to go home because the president had been shot. We turned on the TV at home and watched most of the day. Also saw Lee Harvey Oswald shot on live TV. The 60's were somewhat traumatic for a kid.

You two are SO funny! I love watching you two eat your way across the US, with a little sightseeing thrown in on the side!

Great video. You should have gone to Whataburger a couple of years ago before they sold out to some outfit in Chicago. The burgers are no longer any good and the restaurant in my small town is run badly, doesnt have enough staff, and is just generally awful. Its so sad.

LOVE your videos. So in depth and really gives us all a feel of what the trips and places are like. My only criticism is you do realize in all of these that your dad always wins the price is right. Its about getting as close as you can to the number without going over!

I was in the 8 th grade in history class when President Kennedy was shot. I too watched it all on TV for several days. I dont remember going home early from school. On another I had no idea there was so much to see and do in Dallas alone. Definitely worth a road trip!

I hate when people go to Whataburger and get the normal burger. Whataburger aint known as one of the top fast food joints for their normal burger everyone knows the Whataburger is just a burger its the specialty Burgers that rank it so high on many peoples lists

If you ever come back try the Whataburger Jr double meat with extra veggies. Before you eat it open it up and arrange the veggies evenly. Might not be up to In and Out standards. There are a lot of mom and pop shops that have really good burgers all over Texas.

My goal in life is to own an RV and visit the places that you and your dad have gone through. You guys have such an astounding taste in your destinations and what I love from your trips are the stuff that we viewers learn from the places you visited.

My grandparents had tons of Collin Street Bakery fruitcake tins that they used for storage, my grandmother would store sewing supplies and food, and my grandfather had dozens of tins of random screws, bolts, and parts stacked in the barn.

As soon as I heard conspiracy theory, I stopped watching. There is overwhelming evidence of a conspiracy, and over 60% of the people in recent polls reveal that a great majority do not view this American tragedy as a theory.

There were actual video simulations they made to show along with the real communications. During the landing the simulations had a message across the film inform viewers when they were watching a simulation.

The Whataburger in New Mexico has a green chile cheeseburger. You haven't had good Whataburger tell you put New Mexico green chili on it. We here in New Mexico love our Whataburger. Great trip!

While in Corpus you didnt tour the USS Lexington, go to Padre Island National Seashore or ride the Port Aransas Ferry? You all need another road trip! Thanks for taking us on this one.

Did you know those longhorns are called Watusi longhorns and they were first bred in Africa? The horns of the Watusi are always U shaped! Very laid back animals with a good demeanor!
