Want to pay for world travel? There's really an easy answer for this. don't have kids! Forget the ten steps! There's really only ONE step. Now some of you nay sayers might be in some denial here. Oh, that's throwing out the baby with the bath water! Well, not so! If you only knew how LIBERATING being childless really is. Some simple FACTS: Raising one child costs about a quarter of a million dollars (with some college saving thrown in. How much travel will that buy? Just how liberating is that! Plus when you travel, you're not hampered by myriad logistical problems. You can go to places you might never be able to. You can practically travel just about ANY time you want! (Not just during school breaks) You can get off season deals, rates etc. As a matter of fact, my wife and I have been doing this for years. I can't begin to tell you what a LIBERATION this has been. if you really want to travel in a big way. This involves a paradigm shift for some of you. but think of the rewards! The simple fact is that for most people, having kids is the deal breaker. It comes down to this. kids or travel. Of course for the 1 % ers there is no such opportunity cost. but for the rest of us. I wouldn't trade my memories for anything. I could NEVER have done what I've done or seen what I've seen if I hadn't made the right decision BEFORE it was too late! What do YOU want?

Yep! After having steak for a long, long time, beans, beans taste fine.
I recommend eating beans and lentils with meat and rice: Fills you up!
Search for bean recipes! Also, eat bread. Set aside a certain amount of money for savings. How it works with me is, I determine a certain amount to spend, and spend no more. After my bills, I only spend a certain amount. I don't have cable. I set my thermostat low in winter, high in summer: Of course you shouldn't be miserable! I use sunlight during the day and turn off the lights at night, unless I'm using them. I cook a big batch of one thing, with a few alterations when I get bored, and eat it for often a week or more, so I don't have to go to the store (saving on gas, and I don't have to buy lots of things. I just buy a few things for simple cheap recipes, eat it with mostly rice or pasta. Also, turn down your water heater--I saved $10 or more a month doing this. Just soak the dishes so you get off the food from the lower temperature for the dishwasher. Don't use fans; use air-conditioning if you have a small apartment; fans if you have a house, opening the windows when you can. Best wishes for travels!

Just watched this now. can I rewind and find a mate who loves to travel? Haha. No incentive to do all these things AND still be willing to save the difference for travel We have 7 children born over a 17 year span. So we already did these things to pay for life. Put 3 children through college and had 4 weddings so far. But we also have originally thousands of dollars worth of CDs that are now worth nothing sitting in our basement. Practically cant give them away. Product of the 80s culture of living well right now! Haha. We have to pay for high priced internet for husbands job. We have a heat pump. Winter costs us a fortune. Were still empty nesters after 34 years of child rearing. Sigh.

Trying to be objective, do you have a college fund for your kids, a retirement plan, unexpected expenses? You mentioned that you barely eat out bt in another video you said go to the supermarket and buy your food there. and in another one you said get a hotel that includes breakfast. So you travel but it sounds kind of miserable to live like a poor person in the States and then travel to eat sandwiches out of ziplock bags. It seems kind of extreme but if your family is happy who I'm I to judge.

MOST people do NOT track their expenses on a daily basis. At the end of the year, they have no REAL idea as to where the money has gone. Once you start tracking where all the pennies are going, real quickly you see that you have a lot of leakage everywhere and can decide what things are important to you and what is not. We travel 65-70 days a year for about US$7k and have a blast doing it.

Do you have any knowledge or could you do a video on working abroad, i. e working on farms, or teaching english. I know these are some ways of living abroad and earning a small income. I have heard of a working holiday visa, but it only goes to age 35. I'm over 35. I don't know if that excludes me.

I find this video helpful for when I travel cuz I do want to be able to afford to travel to different countries around the world. do want to travel more outside USA already been to India and Canada. would love to visit Europe and Asia and South America one day
