Here's the thing about the BLUNTNESS. there's being honest about saying NO when a person feels obligated to say YES. That being said. not having a filter can surely add insult to injury. There is no telling wha t another person is going through. There are people with ADD, ADHD, O/C, PTSD, etc. Always saying what's on your mind can surely add salt on someone's wounds. Most people are aware that they have issues that are difficult to handle. Seems to me that having to insult others (even if culturally accepted) is a means of distraction from their own weaknesses. There has to be balance, as in all things in life. Not all TRUTH-TELLING is beneficial. it can be downright disrespectful and cruel. if I may be so BLUNT.

Im Finnish and have visited all of the Nordic countries so here is my pros and cons
- Winter (If you like snow this isnt a problem to you though)
- too many regulations and rules by the goverment
- a bit of racism from the older people and people from the countryside
- price of alcohol and the fact that clubs and bars have to close at 4am
+ safety
+ nordic women, atleast to my taste best in the world
+ the drinking culture (lots of it, isnt for everybody)
+ In general good quality of life, free studying and healthcare etc.
+ nature, especially in the summer
+ younger people and people from big cities are really open minded and international
I could pick more to both categories.

A bit strange to see this video about my own country (I'm Norwegian. It gives me a perspective when looking at similar videos for other countrys. I'm not agreeing with food and alcohol abuse. We have good local food and is doing well in cooking competitions. I would have to agree that I like summer here as well. But winter is becoming more and more popular as well. Hotels are often now fully booked January and February now. I would really recommend northern Norway and especially Lofoten!

I think people need to realize that Finland is somewhat different from the rest of Scandinavia. In particular the Finnish language is VERY different from the other Scandinavian languages. Also in Finland there are significant numbers of even young people who do not speak English. Another plus point for all four mainland Scandinavian countries is excellent public transport. In particular up in Lappland, (very thinly populated) buses and trains still run several times a day!

I'm seeing a lot of people bickering in the comments so let me see if I have my head wrapped around this complex and divisive concept (sarcasm. Nordic refers to Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland. Scandinavian refers to a more specific region Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

We are planning a trip to Nordic, Scandinavia, and Baltic regions in August. I enjoyed reading about your personal take on the area that you know and love. I am sick of the politics in US. I hope to feel more kindred with your more politically correct culture. Thank you for sharing.

Im From Finland, and i have been to norway, denmark and sweden. Dont remember about Norway, cuz i went there when i was little. Sweden is in my opinion really cheap, atleast compared to Finland. Denmark, oh my god it was so expensive. Like this small chocolate thing cost 5$!

Most people don't consider usa part of Norway, like most Americans does not consider USA part of Norway, but I'll make a video about how Minnesota Norway or vinland as it called in Norwegian Leif Erikson was the founding father. Anyway USA is the worst part of Norway

I dont know if you will love, hate or be shocked by this, but what surprises me about Scandinavia is how comfortable they are with nudity. It seems that if they swim, sit on the beach, or go into a sauna, they will strip off without giving it a second thought.

In Finland we have nearly 10 000 lakes. So fresh water fishing or boat trips are thing that you have nowhere else in the world. Most unigue is Lake Saimaa. Fishing lisens are 50 for whole year. Rapid river fishing cost more.
