If I have to be so cautious when going to any of those uncivilized countries, I rather don't go. I blame the politicians that don't care, but about themselves, been reelected and keep on stealing as much as they can! If would be up to me I would stiffened the penalties to the criminals, with forced labor for ten or more years, or tougher. I would have local policemen and policewomen dressed as tourists and when the criminals hits, hit him back with full force, I mean with full force or fix him for life even if you have to cripple the SOB. These thieves that take assault tourist and other foreigners are traitors to their country, they are a meaningful hindrance to tourism which in many countries if a very important source of revenue and even survival. Elect someone as I describe and watch crime decrease in at least 70% in less than a year, instead getting worse every day.

The European bathroom scheme: You use the bathroom at the cheap restaurant or the Burger King and a beggar demands a 1 EU tip. if you refuse someone else tells you that you are required to pay the beggar. Also- the Hostel scheme: You check into a hostel and they tell you all the rules then they tell you to put all your belongings in the locker and later you noticed they went through all your belongings and threw them on the floor. That happened in Amsterdam at The Arena hostel and I went on the radio to tell everybody all over the US and next time I visited that city I noticed The Arena was shut down for good. It's gone. Otherwise I always had the best time of my life in the North west Nordic European Union countries on the European continent.

Great advise. My wife and I watch and learn from many of your videos. I have taken photos of my important travel documents and credit cards then stored them in Google photos. They will be available if needed anywhere there is internet. A good tip for credit cards is to remember the 3 digit security number on the card then cover it with cellophane tape and black it out with a sharpie - inspect the tape when it is handed back to you, if the tape is damaged then your number has been compromised. The cellophane tape is always damaged when it is tampered with. We've already bought simple cheap wedding bands for travel and leave the rocks at home. Thanks for sharing your helpful tips.

Unless I think I will need my passport I carry a photocopy of the information page and leave my passport secured where I am staying. In some countries they require a photocopy be taken of your information page in order to get a SIM card for your phone and some other services. Most of the time they have been fine with taking a photocopy of my photocopy rather than needing my actual passport.
Scan all your travel documents and send to your personal email. Then if any of your documents go missing or are stolen you can access the email copy. I also email myself contact information for my bank information, credit cards, travel insurance, etc.

Can you PLEASE do a video of your WORST experiences travelling the world? The time someone stole your rental car keys and left with it and all you luggage. The time when you got off the wrong train station in rural Peru at midnight, and everything was closed, empty and weary. Or the time a local nomadic chief wanted to buy your wife for 3 camels and 10 goats in central Asia.

Suitcases with locks on them may or may not work. I saw a video where the thief breaks open the zipper of a locked bag. takes stuff out of it, then slides the lock and the clasp- to reclose the zipper.
- Maybe if you use a little lock- lock the zipper clasp to something so that it cannot be slid around.
