Great tips!
We are looking to stay in a private home near here next spring with a large family group that will include two 9 year olds and a freshly minted 6 year old, all boys (all three are pretty well traveled having been to multiple US destinations as well as Costa Rica & Cozumel Mex)
Do you have any recommendations for extra awesome excursions/activities (aside from just being in an amazing location) with little people?
We already hope to visit Ometepe and the watering hole Ojo de Agua on the island. and i'm considering putting them into a day class for kids for surfing (we are not surfers lol) and maybe doing a horseback ride on the beach. but I'd love to hear of any other great ideas

Very nice, I haven't been there in a while, but it is definitely beautiful. I recommend staying in Tola in Punta Teonoste hotel. Private beaches, good food, good service, pool for the kids, you can also hire a guide for a horseback ride tour on the beach, surfing lessons, yoga, etc. Ah, you can also see the turtle conservation program they have going there. Adults and children will love it. Just thought it would be helpful if you are in the area. Finally, I don't work for them in any capacity or get paid to promote them. Just a personal opinion. Don't forget to put on some sunblock or you'll be sorry.

San Juan del Sur has one of the best Public Libraries in Nicaragua, San Juan del Sur Biblioteca Publica y Movil. They have a mixed English/Spanish collection serving both the Expat and local communities. They also do outreach to schools. As an NGO, they perform an important service since books are scarce and expensive in Nicaragua.

First! Even though it really doesn't matter. Thanks for all your videos Mark, it really helps all of us prepare for our travels. I'm only 15 but my family and I are planning a trip to Paris & Annecy, Berlin & Munich, Poland (would like to see Auschwitz) and Rome.
Nevermind! Someone beat me: ( Guess I'm second

Was really happy to see this in my subscriptions feed! Very glad to see you featured it, as I was just in San Juan del Sur this past winter as a part of an Engineers Without Borders project we had in a nearby village. Thanks for keeping the great videos coming: )

Informative as always! Thanks for the information. We're planning to go to SJDS in the near future as we are living in Nicaragua, so it'll be interesting to see what has changed post covid

My Nica wife and I were married there a year ago February, 2018. We now go there 3-4 times a year. Great restaurants and bars, and very laid back! For us it is perfect!

Wow, that looks incredible. The beach mmm this is on my list. Haven't been to South America but plan to in 2018. Great tips! How expensive is it? Is it safe?
