Small correction. The name of the second one is Porto de Galinhas (chicken harbour, not praia de galinhas (chichen beach): D
Another really local, beautiful and quiet place I would suggest is 'Sao Miguel dos Milagres' it is about 2 hours drive from Porto de Galinhas, right between Recife and Maceio. A lovely fishing village that definitely worth visiting and staying for a couple of days.
Another one in Minas Gerais, really close to the border with Sao Paulo is 'Monte Verde'. Nice place for adventure and contact with the nature. I would strongly recommend staying in the 'Alive Eco Hut' in there.

Appreciate the vid, looking at Bonito (when I lived in Paraguay, a lot of local friends would go there), and while I haven't been to Joao Pessoa, I recently spent a week in a couple beach towns SE of Natal, just about 100mi up the coast from there. Absolutely beautiful beaches. Every day was 85. Cheap drinks, good seafood eats. White-knuckle dune buggy rides. Drinking beer on a dune buggy, while on a wooden boat ferrying us across the river. Good times.

Hi Mark! Have you been in Gramado? It is a city in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, at the very south of the Country. Very gorgeous, very clean, very safe. In fact, it doesn't seems like a Brazilian city at all. It is close to where I live (Caxias do Sul) and also from Porto Alegre, the capital of the state. Let me know if you need a city guide, me and my wife speak reasonable English and could help in case of need! ;)

South of Brazil is the best! Completely different from all the rest, it seems you're in another country! Some nice cities are Gramado, Torres, Pomerode, Bom Jardim da Serra, Balneario Camboriu, Garopaba, Londrina, Curitiba, Guaratuba, and many others! Nice video!

Yeah, brazil has a lot of small towns full of personality, culture, natural attractions, etc. that are much more chilled than the craziness of big cities. On the other hand, cities like Rio has all of that in one place.

Wolters, thumbs up for you, you said it right Mato Grosso do Sul, while most brazilians that are not from MS makes a little confusion and always call Mato Grosso do Sul (MS) as Mato Grosso (MT, wich is another state.

If you're going to Santa Catarina, and looking for a more peaceful beach place than Floripa or Camboriu, try Bombinhas. Smaller town, pretty, with mountainsides not far away at all.

Love the video! Your portuguese is on point! I also recommend the little town of Lumiar in the state of Rio de Janeiro. It's perfect for nature lovers!
