Nashville: The Don'ts of Visiting Nashville - Wolters World Shannon: Nashville native here. Hattie B's for hot chicken, Jack Calhouns for BBQ, and 2 places for your down home cooking. Monell's and Lovelace. (EAT IN AT BOTH) Also yes please visit the Parthenon, it took quite a bit of time to restore Athena and the Parthenon so we are very proud of them! Also the Frist museum features a lot of our local artists, so even if there isn't a huge exhibition going, you can see some of our art culture there. Also. Cheekwood is known for it's historic and cultural gardens and artistry as well. last DON'T for your list. we are a sweet hospitable town, but please don't continually comment on the accent. if you are able to find a local downtown. it is annoying to constantly be commented on about the way we talk.

Born and raised in Nashville, moved away in 2007 and moved back last year and I have never had this hot chicken lol. I dont even know where that came from. Its a new thing. Its changed so much. I left bc I thought there wasnt anything great about Nashville, in the meantime it got popular. And my dad does wear cowboy boots sometimes, so I guess I need to get out more! I could be a local celebrity with all the transplants lol. I always enjoyed the Opryland hotel, especially at Christmas! So if you are coming down soon, go visit Opryland hotel, its beautiful and amazing. And lots of walking, but plenty of restaurants and food! Have fun!

Alright guys, I gotta do what Daddy Wolter tells me. One of the best places to get hot chicken around Nashville is Reds 615 Kitchen across from Centennial Park off West End Ave. Their chicken is so flavorful, and they even have a hot chicken crunchwrap. It consists of a cut up tender to your spice level, their scratch pimento mac & cheese, pickles and comeback sauce. Its amazing and I highly recommend checking them out

Unicorn here (born and raised in Nashville) if you want hot hot chicken go to Boltons or Princes. If you want more hybrid and southern chicken go to Hattie bs or smokin thighs. 100% Go. To. Arnolds its the best cafeteria in the region. Go get ramen at Otaku ramen or sushi and poke at zushi poke. Definitely dont stay in downtown the whole time. Hang out in 12th south, the village, and edge hill those neighborhoods are awesome.

Gotta try Boltons Hot Chicken and fish in East Nashville (which geographically is north Nashville but locals call it East.
Make sure to check out the great food in and uniques vibes of Franklin/Brentwood/Bellevue
Echo the celebrity sentiment. There are a lot but this is genuinely where they actually want to live(not LA) so give them space and appreciate treating celebrities like real people.

Born and raised in Nashville! For anyone wanting to know the best hot chicken place (in my opinion, its Boltons in East Nashville. Its a hole in the wall place that never disappoints; D the bicentennial mall also has some really good food too. You should also visit a place called The Arcade if you come over. Theres a bunch of fun shops and stuff there too!

Nashville is nothing but tourist and people who have moved from other states. For those of us born and raised here Nashville is no longer the good old days Nashville. Middle Tennessee has been infiltrated by transplants. A great place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is Wendell Smith's Restaurant the food is absolutely amazing.

I used to live about an hour north of Nashville, and I honestly took it for granted. It's a city with such character and a unique charm that's simply unmatched. There's something for everybody, even if you have to go looking. I've since moved to Texas for the time being, but I cannot wait to get back to Middle Tennessee.

Word to the wise: The name Music City does NOT just mean Country Music City. In fact, it actually predates the entire genre's existence! There is something for everyone depending on your personal music tastes: plenty of jazz lounges downtown, always big rock concerts going on, and so on and so forth

As a Canadian who is married to a Tennessean, we love Nashville! We live an hour south and drive up for special dinners and concerts. Been here 5 years and I love it. My fave city in the US by far and I've been to many. These tips n' tricks are on point.
