In todays vlog we head to Winter Park to have brunch with friends at the Hamiltons Kitchen at the Alfond Inn near Rollins College. But before we head over we show you our butterfly journey where we cultivate our caterpillars into beautiful green butterflies and then we release them in the backyard. We really enjoyed our brunch and exploring the hotel as well! The hotel has lots of really cool art to see around every corner. We definitely recommend checking Hamiltons Kitchen out and the Alfond Inn

Another fun & easy way to grow really pretty butterflies from eggs to butterfly stage is to get Milkweed & just set out maybe 2 containers in yard & the adult butterflies smell the milkweed & then lay eggs on the milkweed. The eggs turn into caterpillars & then they eat the milkweed for # of days then turn into chrysalis & then turn into beautiful Monarch butterflies. We bought a mesh butterfly container about size of laundry basket& put them in the container so that we can watch the process. Lots of fun & entertaining

I remember we all got caterpillars to take care of when I was in 5th grade. Then we brought our back to school when they went into their chrysalises. I remember mine made his/hers so fast; in about an hour or so. It was a busy little one. Then once all of ours hatched in the tanks we had at school our whole class went outside and released them. I named mine Peaches: )

A butterfly and moth specialist is called a lepidopterist. My brother studied biology at Oxford and is obsessed with moths. He has lepidopterist friends who he discusses moths with. I lovingly tease him about being a big nerd.

Can you guys do a video on your favorite things or must haves for a disney park day? Where you link stuff. Like the fan for the stroller, fave ponchos, umbrella etc? That would be so helpful!

When talking about butterfly plants, make sure you get both host plants (food for the caterpillars) and local flowers that pollenators like (butterfly food! Milkweed is a host plant for monarchs.

Its so sweet how much Jackson liked the Butterflies! My 2 year old was terrified of ours. Now every time she doesnt like something or something startles her she yells, Butterfly! . Poor kid.

Butterflies do like Jasmine Tim! They like fragrant plants that need pollination. Monarch Butterflies are black and orange but as caterpillars, they are striped black, yellow, and white.
