we head to Disney's Vero Beach resort for the annual Tour de Turtles event, where they attach transponders on turtles and release them back into the ocean. These turtles have had hatchlings and those hatchlings are also released into the ocean. These amazing animals then become ambassadors for their species and help with scientific research that will further the conservation effort. It was really a great experience to watch them head towards the ocean and continue their journey. Then we head into the resort for a complete tour of the hotel grounds and amenities. Although we didn't get a chance to see any of the rooms, we were able to see the villa buildings and the cottage buildings. We also

I used to work at Disneys Vero Beach resort.
The massages used to be on tables by the pool. The current spa area used to be the DVC sales center.
Tick Tock the crocodile is a topiary on property and his song plays in the tunnel.
Locals often come to DVB to eat and are disappointed they have to walk from the parking lot across the street. Sometimes a golf cart would shuttle guests.
The character breakfast used to be Goofy and his son Max and it was held Saturday morning in Shutters. The room where they were having it in your video was only used for holiday meals or group events.
They also closed in the wall to the restaurant and relocated the entrance on the enclosed porch to the side.
They seem to have covered up a cool framed vintage swimming suit with DVC advertisement.
The beach rentals used to be on top of the ramp by the beach entrance.
The restaurant used to be called Shutters and had an outdoor patio that was later enclosed due to weather. There was also a fine dining restaurant called Sonyas- named for the hotel manager.
There didnt use to be a store by the pool.
The store by the lobby has a fun hidden Mickey in the truck with oranges wall decoration.
The guests used to have to go out at night to see the sea turtles hatch and the number of people was limited. Sea turtles go to the ocean at night.
The resort is north of town on A1A.

We missed you by a day! I was taking video on Sunday and someone commented that they seemed to have a lot of vloggers visiting over the weekend.
It's a great resort. Very low key and laid back and designed for just kicking back and relaxing. Disney theming is subtle compared to resorts at the parks and the overall feel is that of an old beach hotel. Dining options are limited but very good and they put fresh cookies out in the lobby every day for guests and that's when the lobby tends to be most active.
It'a great place to stay so the two of you (three of you) will have to head out there for a long weekend at some point in the future.

When our son was a toddler, we started going to Disney's Vero Beach resort. which is a quick easy trip from Orlando. We would go 2-3 times a year. There's so much to do for the whole family. Beach time in the morning, a relaxing lunch in the restaurant, mini golf or bike riding in the afternoon. And like any Disney resort, the activities they plan are always fun. games on the lawn, crafts in the community hall, cookies and milk, storytime, bon fire and smores. you make me want to go back! Thanks for the video and memories. it's great fun and you should go with the family!

+TheTimTracker THANK YOU SOOOO VERY MUCH OF SHARING THIS AMAZING MOMENT WITH US! THIS WAS JUST BEAUTIFUL AND MADE ME SOOOO HAPPY! THANK YOU DISNEY FOR ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING GOOD FOR ONCE. THOUGH THEY SHOULD DO A HELL OF A LOT MORE WITH THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THEY MAKE ON LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE THING THEY SELL WHICH ARE SUPER OVER PRICED AND CONSTANTLY GOING UP!

Love this and those turtles! Our family has been curious about the Vero Beach Resort, thanks for being so thorough in your resort tour! We'll be going to the Hilton Head Resort in a few months for the first time. You made a comment about definitely going there as well at some point. Cannot wait to see your tour and hear your thoughts and comparisons.

Vero Beach is awesome. I always went there on family vacations as a child. They have always been really big into sea turtle conservation. So strange to see the Green Turtle restaurant sponsoring the Tour de Turtle though. They have no restaurants south or west of Virginia.

Hey Tim, sorry I am a little late, we checked into vero beach a couple days ago and the front desk lady told is that they released their turtles silently the day before we came. They said it was the replacement to the Tour de Turtles event. Its great to see they let them free!

Hi Tim. Love this resort and its a great place to stay outside Orlando. The cottages are Grand Villa level on DVC points. They sleep 12 and do have a view of the beach from the second floor. Makes me want to go back. Big love from Ireland and thanks for your videos!

We are heading there for the first time next week, so your timing is perfect. We have stayed at Hilton Head and LOVED IT. Our take, you get to be in the Disney Bubble without any park stress. Super relaxing. Lots of things to do. Perhaps a nice Babymoon? :-)

I'm really curious about the Hilton Head resort! My family goes to Hilton Head every summer but we stay on a completely different part of the island and I've always wondered what the Disney resort is like!
