Thank you though for being so open about the costs and everything. Especially for people outside of the US, like me, it's sometimes a bit overwhelming when I look up a price for a trip like that.

OH by the way. since our April 2020 WDW trip had to be cancelled. we now instead have booked a Disney Cruise for February 2023 on the Disney Wish! AAAHHHHHH We are SO excited and I really hope this trip won't have to be cancelled, fingers crossed! So I am already looking forward to your next cruise series: -) But like you said: for you as Floridians, that is 'an easy trip' cause you don't have to go far where as we will have to start searching for flights and extra hotel stays the night before and the night after the cruise and all that, so that would be making it extra expensive of course, but I will just be happy if this trip will actually happen! And it's a bit frustrating as there are no flights available for 2023 yet so to me this part of the booking process is always so stressful but worth it; -)

I really do not see you guys benefiting from the DVC blue card. you already have APs so you get discounts and you get into exclusive things already from being on Disney's media circuit. So save a crap ton of money and buy resale. The only thing you won't get is the ability to stay at Riviera. If you guys were looking to buy $70, 000 in direct points, you could probably save up to $30, 000 buying resale. Going to a janky/over crowded/sometimes gross (perople take their shoes off sometimes) lounge in EPCOT is NOT worth spending $30, 000 more! All the other perks, you already get. And the Moonlight Magic nights are not guaranteed to come back and many are guessing if they do, they will have a cost to them and not be free anymore.

You can do Hawaii on a budget. The economy seats on several airlines are quite comfortable and the fares from Orlando to Honolulu are as low as 600. 00 roundtrip person. even lower fares can be found from Chicago. Denver and west coast. We have booked Aulani through Vrbo and other DVC reservation options and gotten a regular size 2 queen bed hotel room for $300-$400. A night. Tim & Jen splurged but you can do Hawaii and Aulani much cheaoer. We even got a room on Waikiki beach at the Outrigger for 130. 00 a night last summer!

Hawaiian Airlines has direct flights to HNL from MCO and the flight is 10. 5 hours. I was just looking at a trip in November, and first class for two would cost $8400 round trip. Also, regarding your cost/benefit analysis on the DVC, keep in mind that even though you will be able to stay there every week for a discounted priceyou will also need to spend $10k on plane tickets each time you go(assuming you will always fly first classlike you did this time.

We bought our DVC through resale and our home resort is Aulani. We have a big family so it saves our family a TON of money. So if you end up having more kids, it will be worth your money. My kids are older too, and they still loved it. It was actually really enjoyable for us because my kids could wander around independently and us parents enjoyed the downtime. It was great. I don't have any regrets buying through resale! Saved us a lot of money!

You guys can buy Disney re-sale. So you'd be buying somebody else's initial contract, so you wouldn't have the whole 50 years ahead of you, but you also wouldn't have to pay the whole amount for the initial buy in. You can buy DVC resale through Disney or through a third party. Personally, I love my DVC and it saves us a ton of money because we regularly travel to Disney properties.

Yeah youre correct food in Hawaii is very expensive. Even if you have a condo and eat there some nights. When we went 4 years ago we went to the grocery store for some groceries, and were surprised at how much more groceries are there. A gallon of milk was $5+, eggs were almost $5 for 12, a 12 pk of cans of Coca Cola was $11 or $12. We elected to not purchase the soda.

Hey guys! I loved meeting you both at Aulani. We stayed using DVC points that I rented from my travel agent and paid $900 per night for a 2 bedroom villa. I would recommend renting from David's or DVC rental store sometime to get a better feel for DVC before buying. I know I would like to buy DVC personally, but can't justify the cost.

Looked like a beautiful vacation! I want to go some day! I loved watching all the footage and seeing Jackson have so much fun! Don't feel bad we spent 1, 000 a night on a Disney cruise only 4 nights, but what a great trip! Plus you do this for a living so why not!
