About the roads part, there are areas where we cannot even say that it is a road. It is more like a area where land is flattened by all the vehicles. I swear to god how nauseous I feel when we got to more underdeveloped area is worrying sometimes

I really recommend you to travel with a Indian in India it will be way too easier to travel and avoid all these things very easily

bruh that shouldn't have happened with you. I am an Indian and we went to visit another state (Rajasthan) and we left our bags for almost like 5 hours in a hotel and it was all safe.

All you needed were earplugs when you were resting on the side of the roads. Who rests on the side of highways anywhere? In USA you can be hit and run roadkill doing that.
