Everglades National Park encompasses over 1. 5 million acres in the southern portion of Florida. The park preserves wetlands known as the river or grass and is home to hundreds of different animals. The park has a northern and southern portion and we visit both in this video. You can use this video to find the trails and parts of the park that you are most interested in visiting when you go to Everglades National Park. Mark: The difference between an Alligator and a Crockadile is: Color: Alligators are a darker, blackish-grey in color, while crocodiles are a lighter, olive green or brown color. Snout: Alligators have a wider, U-shaped snout, while crocodiles have a pointier, V-shaped snout. Also, if you hear someone singing Crocodile Rock, that person may be Elton John. Ha. Ha.

It's so interesting to see this from a visitor's point of view.
The skeleton trees are cypress.
You'll only find alligators except around the bay down at Flamingo.
I love the Everglades and Big Cypress.
Even 1-2 inches of elevation change can cause the ecosystem to change, but sometimes that's less noticeable to visitors.
(I love visiting in winter when the birds are more prevalent, but I also love slogging the cypress swamps in summer and seeing the changes that come with the wet season)
I always think I see more from bikes, but that's me. I will say the tram ride can be pricey, especially for a family, so I'd caution people to check prices.
I also don't know that I'd recommend most people try to do both parts of the park in one day. They might be tempted to speed on the way out of the Southern part of the park and that endangers wildlife.
The animals you saw on the way back (from timestamp 26: 30): Great Blue Heron, Alligator, Anhinga (also called a snake bird and if you ever see one fishing, that'll make more sense, Alligator, Anhinga, Alligator>

There are thousands of 4 to 8 minute videos on youtube with top 10 here and best places there.
You have those too, and they're not bad.
But what it really does for me are those long travel videos, mostly with your dad.
Half an hour is minimum. I'm always so excited when they last 90 minutes or longer. Sure, that's just my taste.
There's a real holiday feeling. The viewer get a vague idea of a place and all the little details complete the picture.
It really makes me want to travel and explore.
Also, you guys seem like nice people. Thank you and keep it up!

This is a comprehensive exploration man about the wildlife around florida. This is so cool. thanks for bringing us to this place. well im from the Philippines and i adore people like you and paps exploring together which is seldom because mostly young ones prefer to be with their peers but you chose to be with your father and i am so proud of you because you have a good relationship with your dad. god is happy for both you

Great video. I go camping at Flamingo a couple times during the month of March. When the water dries up in the spring, tons of birds gather in the pools to feed on the fish. March is also the month when the swallow-tailed kites migrate north from South America. Watching your video got me excited to head down there in a couple weeks.

No crocks in the US, Just alligators. I think the crocs are imported, if there are any. Crocks have a very narrow nose, alligators have a wide nose. Florida is infamous for moskitos. (spelling, especially once you get out into the foliage. New Mexico is dry too. I lived in St. Louis for awhile, and the humidity is terrible there.

Nice job, You and Pops really covered a lot of ground in one day. I was there for two days and didn't cover as much as you did. We were in a Class C Motorhome similar to the one in your video. I'm very glad there were no Ravens trying to eat my camper.

I am absolutely terrified of alligators & crocodiles & I don't know the difference but it doesn't matter. I am convinced that the gater or croc that does me in will be the one out if a million that's figured out how to climb onto the boardwalks, etc.
