Made the drive many times. Most memorable one was in November 1998. You mentioned about in some areas you can't see water on either side of the road, well late in 1998 you could see water on both sides of the road for the entire drive, that's what makes it so memorable. Hurricane Georges came thru and later tropical Storm Mitch and between the two they stripped every leaf from every green plant/tree on the Keys. I never knew there were so many houses on the Atlantic side because the foliage had hid them before.

The lobster bisque the fishery is to die for! Watching your video brought back so many memories and the crazy need to get back there, sadly the small privately owned resort we stayed was destroyed by the last bad storm but luckily we made some good friends that now live there!

So nice to see a father and son trip. This video makes me wish I was in Florida. I miss visiting Key West, which I last went to on a honeymoon in 1991. Would love to drive back there.

You missed my favorite stop on that drive--Caribbean Club in Key Largo. Dive bar on the beach usually full of characters. At least one them will be napping at the bar mid afternoon.

I cant believe you skipped right over the entire Lower Keys. Disappointed me. A fine video, next time though, find half a dozen features between Bahia Honda and Key West.
