I appreciate you and your cousins impressions of Afghanistan. Too often times people have misperceptions about countries, when in actually they embrace beautiful cultures and forms of hospitality. People need to know the history & background to understand why these places became war zones in the first place. That doesn-t take away the beauty of its people.

Lexie, a salute to your cousin and the other men and women who helped the people of Afghanistan and make it a better place. I know that when Afghans can play music on the streets, or go to school as a result of it. Things will get better in time, but Afghans will remember these as Heros that helped make their country a better place.

There was a group of cyclists going around with the same -people are so loving everyone else is wrong- and then got gunned down in the street when they went into Afghanistan. You roll the dice against statistics and got lucky. You just need to get unlucky once.

This is a little cathartic for me too. I deployed to Iraq as a US Army soldier in 2011. I and my unit tended to US soldiers who were killer or injured. Thank You Lexi and Will for giving me and other like me a peek into this culture free of bias. TY.
