How come yezidi have so much similarity with Hinduism? If you are a yezidi please help me out here.
1. I am a Bengali Hindu. My culture also says never to step in the doorway. We call it -choukhat-. Whenever we go outside we touch the doorway/bow down to pray the doorway. For good luck and auspiciousness along our journey.
2. Indian national bird is Peacock.
3. Women. Especially elder females wear saree.
4. In hinduism we are polytheistic. We believe in more than one god. we also acknowledge that you can be a Yezidi or a Muslim or a Christian but still all the worship leads ultimately to god. So we never say that your God is better than my God. Or there is only one god. Is it same in yezidi?
5. We believe in reincarnation. That is To be reborn after death. Do yezidi believe in this?
6. Also we believe in karma. If you did good deeds in your life. You will be born as a human in next life. If not, then you will suffer being born as insects or lower forms of life. All the enjoyments and good deeds that you have in your lifetime might be because of the good karma you did in your previous life. alternatively of you have diseases or you are disabled then it is due to bad karma of your previous life. There is hell and haven in Hinduism but no one stays in hell or haven permanently. After sometime in hell or haven you get reborn. The only way to escape the life-death-life cycle is by moksha.
7. there is no concept of convertion in Hinduism. You have to be born in the religion. But many interpret it differently saying to become a Hindu you just need to feel you are a Hindu from inside. That is it. You dont need to change your name. even you can pray your god and still be Hindu.

Yazidis are Vedic Aryans. Like Aryans, They have the same caste system and oral tradition for passing hymns to the next generation. Peacock worship is Lord Murugan worship which is also a Vedic faith practiced in India. All Yazidi rituals like burning candles are very similar to Rig Vedic beliefs. Yazidis are Rig Vedic people who settled to northern Iraq at the end of the bronze age. Blessings of Holy Yazdan!

I sympathies to the yazidis in the northern Iraq. There so many similarities ofYazidis religion with Hinduism. The Lalish temple looking like Hindu temple, and their religion sentiments also same as like as Hindu religion sentiments. The yazidis life is really sorrowful in northern Iraq they faces so many Cruealities from Isis. The world should be save the Yazidis from the religion terrorists.
