One trick I have mastered over the years. Always chose the local meal of the country from where the flight originates (starts, irrespective of the carrier. Pretty much in all cases baring a few exceptions all meals are catered locally and the local meal would always be the best. In your case, Bangkok to Frankfurt, you pick the Thai meal and from Frankfurt to Rio you obviously choose the German food. Almost never go wrong with this approach. Again depending on your dietary restrictions you might have to choose otherwise.

The packaging on those Lufthansa meals are the same they use on Amtrak. The meals of microwaved. Having spent more than 72 hours round trip on Amtrak in June and July, I tried all the meals. Some were inedible while others were just okay. But I don-t know of any person who appreciates food who would say they were good.

It was amusing listening to Micah saying' Daddy Eat' at the Frankfurt Sky lounge. Joel too is a great travelling partner. How did you meet up with him? Looks like you had a great time in Frankfurt. I remember when we were there late 80's the airport had armed soldiers walking around.

Airlines dont have much imagination - its chicken, beef or fish. with rice, pasta or cheesy mash potato. I am sick of rice, meatballs and pasta, but that is most of their menu gone.
