STINKY TOFU - Taipei Street Food Sebastian: I know this is like really late, and you guys will never see it or ever have a reason to see it. But I-m from Taiwan, and when those food carts walked away at the end of the video, it wasn-t you guys, they are illegal. like 80% of them are, and so the security of the shopping district probably came by. No one actually cares, but it-s better safe than sorry. So you don-t pay a fine. Oh, and you should-ve tried Taiwanese fried chicken, best fried chicken ever. Could be bias, but they really do taste the best to me personally

Kara and Nate, I'm hooked! I've been watching your vlogs - one after another - and I simply love your descriptions and bits of history. And, as a senior citizen, I live vicariously through you. Y'all are made for each other and I love that Nate brings you coffee in the mornings - so sweet! Keep enjoying your travels and allowing us to tag along. Blessings! P. S. Why did you subject yourself to stinky tofu?

Chinese buns are sold in the US, but they-re not usually as good, unless you get them in Hawaii. (The Hawaiians call them manapuas) My grocery story sells them, but they-re too sweet. My Chinese restaurant sells them, but they are shipped in fro San Francisco and, again, they-re not fresh. But, yes, anyone ambitious to open a manapua bakery on the mainland would definitely make a killing.

I loved Taiwan when I went in 2018! I am a really picky eater but ate everything I came across in Taiwan. I was actually fine with the stinky tofu (it wasn-t amazing and smelled bad, but tasted fine with the vinegar or pickled cabbage. The 100 year egg was amazingly good, wasn-t a fan of the congealed pork blood though. The egg pancake breakfast food was so good too!

Oh you prob was definitely experiencing sewage. I saw a documentary where they were caught using sewage water to cook their food in! Street food is not recommended in some countries. I guess that was one of them. Poor Kara. Tofu is actually really delicious and is cooked so many ways. I hope that was not your last time eating it. But I can understand why.

When you see the street vendors run away, its because there's Police nearby. These are unlicensed food carts. They have walkie talkie systems that let them know if there's police nearby. Also, if you come back to Taipei, these street food vendors especially in Ximen, where you were keep their eyes on a swivel. Its quite a big penalty if they get caught.

I am Taiwanese, born in Arizona, but I visit Taiwan often to visit family, and I LOVE STINKY TOFU! I actually travel from Phoenix to Los Angeles just to find Stinky Tofu to eat. The best part is the Kim Chi salad that comes with it. It-s an acquired taste but the taste is not the same as the smell.

Those beef nudles looked yummy. Having very good shoes is so important when walking especially in streets. And the amount you were walking was insane. I cringed the first time I watched yoi try stinky tofu. I cringed even more now. Yak! The icecram. Ym. The man in the stairs. Omg. LOL: D

Omg I totally feel y-all on the stinky tofu. I-ve been to Taiwan (my bf at the time his fam was there) it-s awful smelling. Like everything bad you-ve ever smelled in your entire life rolled into one smell. I-m a garbage disposal and I couldn-t eat it either. Mad props for trying.
