Currently studying abroad in NZ and was in Taupo last week before lockdown. My friend and I rented bikes to go to Huka Falls but got lost (poor map reading skills haha) and stumbled upon Spa Thermal Park which sounded super familiar but I couldn't figure out why. Then I realized it's because of your vlog I had watched years ago!

Haha so funny story. I know those people behind you at the hot springs doing the photoshoot. We were all part of the US tour of Flashdance the musical that year and at the end of the tour, we were brought down to Auckland for a 2 week run of the show and that was our 1 day off. I went to Hobbiton and Glow Worm Caves.

You're instinct was good.
People are very private in New Zealand we enjoy our personal space, so if you record people, some may have a problem with that.
They won't say anything out of respect for you wanting to record an experience, but not everyone will be happy about it.
Only a small amount though.

I hope that Kara and Nate come back to New Zealand and explore some more. I would love for them to see more of the north Island like Kerosene Creek which is similar to where you were but due to its location is crowded or Mangatutu Hot Springs which is even more remote and free Hot Tubs.

Did you actually go in late april? That's when we'll be there this year! Do you think time of day or day of the week plays a factor in the crowd that is there? We'd love something a little more private!

Yeah that's Maori land those hot springs, right beside the Waikato river in Taupo. So magical that place, especially at night time. Such a serene place.

Yes definitely see more stars in the sky. I'm from Taupo now living in the uk. First thing i notice was that there weren't as many star in the night sky.
