First Impressions of Ho Chi Minh City (DON'T MISS THIS) Amanda: Love the museum parts, I love going to museums. Though I feel sorry for the viet people and what has happen to the common people. But there is so much a lot of people didn-t know, my family history the history of HMONG people, I am born in America but my great grand parent-s, grand parents and parents where born in Lao and during the Vietnam war it hit the Hmong people hard too. with out the Hmong people American would of not won and gotten out of Vietnam. Unfortunately this part of history the US government just waved us aside. Hmong people were called -secret solders- and only Hmong people and the actual veterans who fought with Hmong people know the truth. I believe everyone should know history and truth about who the real hero-s are. Thanks for this video.
I appreciate every culture, I have traveled to 6 different country and around the USA.

In the 60s my husband fueled the B52s in Guam during the war. I doubt the war museum shows the carnage the Vietcong was inflicting on South Vietnam, trying to force them to go communist in the late 50's to early 60's. We first just sent observers to assist, then escalated as the Chinese backed the communist north. America doesn't like to back down from anything and they didn't try very hard to get out until Nixon took over. He at least gets credit for ending the war and helping 100's of thousands escape to the West. It's all communist now, but with a lot of American influence improving the now combined country over all. It took a few more years to settle down as they kept killing all wo had opposed the regime. Like they would do now, just like China, but things are good enough there is no opposition for now.

Definitely a history lesson is needed. It's sad that Nate felt -shame-. Nate should take what he saw at that museum with some skepticism and realize that much of it will be anti-American propaganda. It worked. Nate felt shame of being an American while visiting the museum. There is much more to learn about the Viet Nam conflict. War is horrible for all sides involved. The South Vietnamese people suffered horrific atrocities by the North Vietnamese. Americans helped many of them escape the horror of war. Before being ashamed Nate, find out what brought the war on. Vietnam veterans have been vilified and many of them never came back to their families. That is the real shame for an American to feel.

Some trivia about the war: my Dad served twice over there and was treated alwful when he came back. My Dad loved the children there and we sent candy etc. For the kids. He fought for the Vietnamese who needed freedom. I have pics of the country and people there etc, very special. He said it was a beautiful country, glad ya'll enjoyed it there and the fact it's a free country. Blah blah blah, I'll stop now. Lol. Love to both of you!

We have a Noir here in Toronto, Canada too just like that where all the staff is blind and you eat in the dark. But we also have another unique place here called Signs where all the staff is deaf and you cant talk to order anything you have to use soley sign language. which they have visually explained to you one the menu for each food and you have to try to sign it to the waiter to order. Its such an experience.

I am 64. I wore a POW bracelet in the 6th grade. My cousin, who I loved dearly, died of agent Orange. Chemicals dropped over Vietnam. My husband took a college class on Vietnam war. Even though it was not labeled a war, it was. All due to government political, profit in war, power. Those are the guilty ones. I cannot wait to go to that beautiful country with so much forgiveness.

Kara is always beautiful, but I must say 14: 14 her skin was glowing in that light and her eyes looked so beautiful.
Also the eating in the dark restaurant looked and sounded amazing. When I was in Ho Chi Min City we went to a cafe that employs only staff with Down syndrome and it also was amazing. I-ve forgotten the name but it was a big green cafe near a garden temple.

I went to a darkness restaurant in South Korea with someone who was basically a stranger. Let me just say that is the best way to break the ice. Also the owner of the restaurant was blind himself and created it so others could have a similar experience. It was amazing and I would love to go to another one!

You should do 1 or 2 weeks travel through out vietnam. There are so many great things from green valley in the country side to little corners in the city to experience. You should get a trustful person to guide you around. You should also try caves camping trips, it is unbelievable experience.

I also went to the War Remnants Museum, and while silently crying on my own, I watched the Americans on the same room with me, seeing the photos and reading those photos. I was curious what they were thinking. I guess you answered it. Thank you for your content.
