Hiking 20 Miles Alone in Big Bend National Park. Spent a few days hiking, kayaking and eating BBQ in Southern Texas Camden: Most people have said this, but the beauty of the park is its isolation. If you re looking for even more isolation, I d check out Guadalupe Mountains National Park! Only a few hours northwest of Big Bend. Guadalupe Peak is the tallest peak in Texas, and depending on the trail and time of year, you can go multiple days without seeing a soul.

There are a LOT of lies about the climate change going on. Search and you will find. Just don t believe everything you hear without looking deeper, that is all I am saying. I have been amazed recently about the data we are being fed, and have been getting fed. There are ulterior and sinister motives in the data for certain. Be informed do not believe everything you hear, as in all things, there are narratives that we are expected to follow blindly in most things these days. Peace to you all. Use your minds not someone else s, look deeper.

I can understand why this park may be underwhelming to someone so well-travelled as you, Kraig. But the magic of this park is the isolation, not the grandiosity. I've spent 30 years visiting this park and I have to admit that when I moved away from Texas I missed the hell out of this place more than I miss some of the more iconic parks I have travelled to, like Yosemite, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon. I am glad you went though, and I am grateful you made this video for us. Thank you!

Our base camp was on the banks of the Rio Grande in Big Bend State Park, then visited the National Park. I told my son Kraig should hike this place and now you did! The state park has some interior trails that you must travel with a high clearance vehicle or you can hike in from River Road and hike in that way too. The sunken volcano is the one I hope we can do one day! It s deep inside the state park. Thanks for sharing this video!

Whaaaat you were in TX? I'm gonna be hiking big bend soon, I would have tripped out running into you! Did you get whataburger? Its a TX staple! Been following you since I started shooting weddings several years back, I love the transition you made from wedding filmmaker to a minimalist, traveling nomad. Super inspiring.

This is what I did on a three day trip to big bend:
Day 1: Balanced Rock, Pine Canyon, Santa Elena, and Ward Spring (nice at sunset)
Day 2: South Rim loop
Day 3: Marufa Vega (my toenail was falling off at this point and I'd strained my hip so we barely got back by dusk but was worth it)

i love that you do these solo! i would be too paranoid to do this. all i would think about is the potential chance of coming across some big bear or a cougar
have u ever come across a big animal while on your hikes? and also do u carry any sort of defense like spray or a tactical knife?

We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.
Thank you for inspiration!

You put a lot of effort into making good videos. All the backtracking you do to get your camera, different camera angles and I can say thank you this all makes for more enjoyable videos.

So fortunate living in the States. Sure in the UK we have great countrside and scenery, but it's not in the same league as America. If you hadn't guessed, i'm a little jealous
