The Shwedagon Pagoda is the most impressive and sacred Buddhist site in Myanmar. The pagoda is claimed to be 2, 600 years old, but according to the historians and archaeologists it was built between 6th and 10th centuries. It has been damaged by earthquakes on several occasions and later rebuilt and raised higher, to its current height of 99 meters/325 ft. In the video: Early morning/Sunrise and late afternoon/Sunset views of the pagoda and the surrounding temples, stupas and shrines. Recorded February 2015 in 4K (Ultra HD) with Sony AX100.

Love and liked all your videos. Thank you for sharing with us. You help us retain our memories of places we visited and if we haven't been, you aroused our interest in wanting to go there. Your videos are so well taken, good angles, tell a story, clear and steady. Please do go to Mrauk, Myanmar. I am sure you will love it, they have one of a kind sunrise not to be missed, unique temples different from other parts of Myanmar, tattoo ladies, walking in the village in the early morning is a great experience as you will see people carrying produce on their heads of buckets to fetch water and their market

It's said there's the hair relics of the Buddha enshrined in the pagoda. Famous two traders named Thapassu and Balluka went on a caravan selling their goods. They faced some troubles falling their carts in to mud. Then they found a help from the God. There was the enlightened one under the banyan tree. They reached there with offerings and offered it to the blessed one. Then the Buddha gave some his own hair by touching his head. They took it with great happy and built the pagoda up. It's mentioned there were two places in Ceylon and Myanmar. Doesn't matter Where ever it's.

Another compelling contribution from the Buddhist world. Thank you for your talent and insight. The evening panorama that closes the film is sensational. I have been to Myanmar a few times. I miss the smell of burning wood and black cardamon.
