Funny to read all the comments from the idiots who don't know any better. Yes Lijiang is very nice, and so are the mountains nearby. However, you should go to New Town Lijiang instead and talk to the locals, who are really pissed off at what the Chinese communists did to their hometown. Old Town Lijiang was basically turned into a Chinese Disneyland for tourists, and the only Naxi living there in the old down work like monkeys for the Communist party to entertain idiot foreigners. The real residents of Lijiang were displaced against their will to make room for this artificial clown show.

I learned about this place from the book Forgotten Kingdom, written by Russian-born author Peter Goullart, who lived there for 8 years in the 1940s, after he, and his mother, fled from Russia, because of Revolution of 1917. He really, really loved that place and wrote an amazing book about it, about its people (Naxi, Minjia, Lisu, Yi Zu and many others, about its culture, customs, music. I hope I can visit Lijiang someday. Thank you for sharing this video with us: )

Truly beautiful. I have been to China 3 times and I have yet to visit this awsome city. China is one country which you have to visit again and again in order to say you've seen China. .Must be time for me to visit again. Hello from Melbourne, Australia.

great filming. a very beautiful place to visit. i always got amazed by the old far east garden with the combination of natural rock flower and the ancient style building. ancient far east building fit very well to the nature/garden

Every country has her charming part and ugly corner, wish people do not have cultural stereotype, China is not that terrible, we have lots of place with sunshine and cleaning water, people do not eat dog and insects.

I visited Lijiang 3 years ago and I love this town so much. I can work out by walking around by stone stairs everyday along the sounds of flowing canals. It makes me calm. Lijiang at night is so awesome too.

I've been here and I want to go back so much, going to China was some of the best 6 months of my life, so much culture and so many places to visit all across the beautiful continent
