There are 34 rock-cut Buddhist, Hindu and Jain temples and monasteries from 7th to 10th centuries at Ellora. The most amazing is Cave 16: the Kailasa Temple (Kailasha, Kailash, Kailasanatha. It is the largest monument in the world cut from monolithic rock, UNESCO World Heritage Site. According to UNESCO: These 34 monasteries and temples, extending over more than 2 km, were dug side by side in the wall of a high basalt cliff. Not only is the Ellora complex a unique artistic creation and a technological exploit but, with its sanctuaries devoted to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism, it illustrates the spirit of tolerance that was characteristic of ancient India. Recorded January 2018 in 4K Ultra HD with Sony AX100.

actual date of this temples not known, the rock is known to be around 6000 years old but when it was carved in to a temple is still a mystery. 400000 tons of rock was removed from the site in making of this temple, this sheer amount of heavy rock was not found or by anyone in and around the site, where was it used or dumped is still an unanswered question? historian say it was constructed less than 18 years. that means back in this 400000 of heavy rock was scooped out by using ordinary equipment like hammer and cutters and The temple was Ready with Beautiful and intricate carvings in just 18 years. it has the largest rock cut monolithic structure in the world. now you can imagine how they managed to construct bridges, staircases with multiple levels, elaborated balconies, underground tunnels, drainage and water harvesting systems etc. in 1982 Muslim ruler Aurangzeb hired 1000 workers for three years only to destroy this temple completely. even after continuous effort workers couldn't destroy this temple. they could only damage and disort some carvings. at Last Aurangzeb gave up and left the temple as it is. new theory suggests this cave temple is old more than 5000 years

Muslim POPULATION JIHAD and Annexation of Hindu land: 1378- Iran, 1761- Afghanistan, 1947- Pakistan, 1971- Bangladesh went to Muslims. Now Kashmir, Kerala, Assam, West Bengal and 500 mini-pakistan in different parts of India are created because of population JIHAD. India 1951- Hindus 30 cr. Muslims- 3 crore2019- Hindus- 100 Cr, Muslims- 27crore+ 3 Cr. Bangladeshi. Muslims increased 9 times. Now, see picture of 1100 years ago all over world. In 900 AD - Hindus 50 Cr. Muslims- 1 million (10 lakhs. 2019- Hindus- 100 Cr( Just 2 times) Muslims- 2000 million ( 200 crore, 2000 times increased. This is just because of large scale conversion and persecution of Hindus by Muslims during their 800 years rule n 200 yrs British rule. Wake up Hindu brothers. Now voice of Hindus is suppressed in name of equality, secularism. Ex. Sabrimala, Ram Mandir. our culture n architecture was and is being destroyed by these converted Hindus (Muslims.

This temple is crafted from perpendicular cutting of single huge rock which is very impossible for humans even today with all the scientific advancements. This temple is naturally occured with the effect of Bhumi-astra a sacred weapon by enchanting holy mantras by capable yogi- saints. This temple shows how Hinduism is sanatan religion and how Indian civilization is oldest on earth. India has lot more marvelous holy sculptures, temples and scriptures which can make whole world feel proud and spiritual but unfortunately due to ignorance and political unwillingness of our politicians of India our royal history is distorted completely and People are unaware about these established signs of god's existence in this earth. Om namah shivay.

We tend to forget that by that time stone craftsmen in India were at the forefront of all the technologies pertaining to cut, carve and polish any stone including diamonds. As a matter of fact they were using the equivalent of our today' s diamond tools like blades and drill bits minus the help of electric motors. They just had to add diamond powder which was know to them since around 6000 BC ( according to Wikipedia) into molten metals and mold that molten metal in various tool shapes. These technologies were passed on to the various invaders of India. Such as the old persian empire, ancient Greeks, who passed it to the Romans. The Moghul empire etc.

There is no way this could be accomplished today with the machines we have. Nobody can tell me that humans back then were able to this but today the majority of people living in this area, are living in mud houses and carry sticks of wood on top of their heads, like seen in this video of the local lady passing by. there has to be a lost civilization much more advanced then we are today. I don't want to insult anybody but being able to build something like this you would think that the people of the area today would be living in houses 10% as marvelous as this structure which would probably look amazing. will definitely put this on my bucket list

Made by hand? I don't think so - and i am an engineer. It must be done using some kind of gigantic 5-axis milling machine with a lot of diamond mills. It easily explains why there was no mistakes made during a work - the project was firstly created in computer, and was loaded into milling machine after a lot of careful verifications. Then, machine did all the work - exactly like in Petra (southern Jordan. But i this case we have to admit that this temple is a lot, lot more ancient than we think - i suppose, it has about 12000-15000 years.

The damaged idols are because One of the cruellest Muslim Kings to have ever ruled some states in India, Aurangzeb tried his level best to destroy the famous Kailasa Temple at Ellora Caves but failed miserably. He employed not a few dozen but about one thousand people, armed with all sorts of tools of the time, to completely destroy the Kailasa Temple. These people went on hitting the rocks here for about three years and finally gave up.

My opinion, this is the most impressive ancient ruin on the face of the earth. It's so amazing that such a magnificent complex could be carved out of ONE section of a mountain, everything connected, no disconnects One day I just have to make the trip to see this absolutely amazing place for myself (great video. thanks. So many questions about how this complex was completed. and who helped?

Many temple deities and the vicinity was destroyed by Aungrazeb and his army. Dharmic religion never never did this in Mekah and Madina. But Islam did this in Dharmic India, not to mention thousands of temples. Shame to Islam. Aurangzeb killed and chased away Hindus from Kashmir, leaving majority muslim as we see today. Yet shamelessly Islam want Kashmir too.

God you Indians are a crack up. It doesn't matter what you are or what you believe in. Just look at your heritage Look at the technical ability your ancestors had, of course when the great building phases were done that ability would wane over the generations if the building stopped due to not needing it. The Gods didn't create this, your blood did.
