Also, while offboarding the aircraft there was police waiting for the flight handing out a second leaflet from the State of Hesse, where it stated that visitors from countries in the risk list should proceed immediately to quarantine for 14 days unless transiting. List where Sweden is right now. I think the directions they told you in Gothenburg applied to your first flight since they probably saw that is wasnt going to be crowded inside so they let you through but you should have probably checked that again in Frankfurt.
Everyone traveling these days should do so with a very open mind about last minute changes happening on a daily basis.

Lufthansa is not really to be blamed for. Actually, Lufthansa was one of the most progressive in trying to get the government to work it out - since they are the biggest player in the market.
In Germany it is the local states controlling emergencies, i. e. a pandemic. When Corona hit, rules where replaced by rules. Then the government then called out a pandamic crisis of national concern making matter and confusion worse.
Lufthansa crews are not all home in Frankfurt, but all over the place and thus you may have 5 crew members, from five states and they all live under 5 different set of rules at home. Lufthansa management was not getting the proper information themselves. The government just did not want anyone to travel, so they made it as hard and confusing to put people off.
I want to appologize for this mess on behalf of my country. It makes us look like a bananarepublic. And our national airline like a disorganized bush carrier. Neither is the case. At least not for our airline. Lufthansa is up there with the best. Please don't blame Lufthansa or their staff for it. They had the worst of times keeping up, while at the same time trying all they could to keep smiling.

Ignore the people whining about what they perceive as you whining, Noel. Those of us mature enough to know what you were saying get it and those who are not. don't deserve your time, attention, or energy. Honestly, it seemed your heat during your rant was ultimately started because you watched a woman fear she would miss her mother's last moments which was the icing on the cake. All of us can have this it isn't REALLY about x, it's just that w led to x and it's all too much altogether. I get it. Personally, I don't blame Lufthansa so much as the fact that literally nobody anywhere on earth seems to know what's going on, but I can see how what you observed was upsetting. Also consider that it could be a management or issue, or it could be an issue of the down the line folks who didn't bother checking their messages in whatever form the company communicates with them. We can't know. It may also be that the German government was changing things about, not the individuals, or was communicating differently to different regions, either different messages or with delays.

The form of the Federal Ministry of Health quite clearly states that you yourself have to inform the health authorities (Gesundheitsamt) of your entry into Germany, and that you have to quarantine (that is the part you didnt read loud. I really cannot really understand your complaints, since you obviously did not follow the rules. I do not know your exact travel dates, but the first time I flew after the shutdown, I received exactly the same form, and it was widely known that, if entering Germany, anyone who had been abroad for more than a couple of days would have to quarantine (with some exemptions, e. g. being a system relevant health care employee. I find your video misleading.

I hate to say it Noel, but it seems like the airline was caught in the middle on this one as they seemed more confused than you were. During this time with the pandemic and decisions being made at the government level almost on a regular basis as to travel restrictions and limitations, the airlines can only do so much. I was supposed to go to Italy, France and Austria with my dad in September 2020, then it was pushed back a year to September 2021 due to the uncertain end date of these travel restrictions. I as an American can not legally enter the Schengen Area until further notice. But hey, that's the name of the game.

Every german state set their own rules on this though there is a federal recommendation and if you had landed in Stuttgart you would have been free to enter, It's not easy to keep track of as the quarantine rule is not for a named country only for a level of current infection rate which only Sweden is above.

Lufthansa use to be an excellent airline but have slipped in their ratings. I have never found them helpful, and I know what I am talking about having lived in Germany for 21 years. Now back in the UK. I flew out to Frankfurt from LHR in 2019 when we were told the flight would be a bit turbulent. Over Luxembourg we were thrown about coz a tornado had passed that way the previous day, it was violent. No word of assurance or apology etc. Next time it will be a BA flight.

Can't believe Noel's getting hate here. If airlines want to operate international flights at the moment, they at a minimum ought to know the border policies of the countries they're flying between (especially as they're operating so few flights. How on earth does the German flag carrier not know what the German government's policy is RE entering the country? Why are they are handing out information that is two months old? Noel is right to criticise.

Noel, if we look back at this journey this is a very important trip you catalogued. It showed that governments lied, people were treated poorly and the pandemic was not presented to the public properly as it went along. At this point in the pandemic, they knew what their stance was on a daily basis and should've been able to communicate any changes appropriately and on a day to day basis. Great video Noel!

Noel, if we look back at this journey this is a very important trip you catalogued. The issue here is aprox. the point, that Sweden is marked as not secure and so the guidelines are stronger there. Also if youre an english citizen you are traviling from sweden, so the stronger rules are applied. In my opinion this is a secure way to prevent spreading the virus. If you need to travel in this situation you should accept that or directly travel from sweden to england

The issue here is aprox. the point, that Sweden is marked as not secure and so the guidelines are stronger there. Also if youre an english citizen you are traviling from sweden, so the stronger rules are applied. In my opinion this is a secure way to prevent spreading the virus. If you need to travel in this situation you should accept that or directly travel from sweden to england

The problem is that a national airline like Lufthansa has a duty to check the current allowances and rules and regulations at ALL times, even at a time during a Pandemic. The employees at the airports had completely different views on what was allowed and what wasn't. If an airline cannot provide its customers with accurate information at all times then it deserves to go out of business.

Lufthansa is the worst airline I've travelled in my life. rude, bad customer service, delays (1 flight cancelled and 2 flights missed through delays in just one return flight Manchester -Frankfurt-Bucharest, it cost me 700 pounds extra, no refund received yet. My worst nightmare of a flight thanks to Lufthansa. Never ever again booking a flight with them or another german airline.

Ya, Lufthansa is in my flight experience a solid airline (not peeking out to the top, but also no disaster airline. As a german, the situation was completely confused then, regulations changed on a daily basis and end of the day nobody what was currently allowed. Given my location in northern Germany (and as they are also OK) I flew mostly from Amsterdam with KLM.

From personal experience never ever choose Lufthansa if you have alternative options - they think too highly of themselves and their service is sub par for the price you pay. I find it sad to see what has become of Germanys flag carrier when comparing their offering/price/service and even quality to other airlines (both regional and international.

Noel I don't blame you for your frustrations on this. Of course this is 3 years later and things seem a bit more normal but as always you handled that situation better than I would. The misinformation is just so confusing, not to mention frustrating for all of the passengers! But traveling then was difficult.

This is typical all over Germany in my experience. Everything is over-regulated to the point where nobody can keep up with the rules, and they are not uniformly enforced anyway as they are too confusing. Add to this the very direct German form of communication and you have a powder keg ready to explode

I feel like your use of the word misinformation is rather unfair, misinformation implies that the information given is deliberately misleading or false. When its more just a case of crossed wires and a lack of communication. I highly doubt Lufthansa were deliberately giving out wrong information.

At 5: 55 Doesnt the food and drink just completely destroy the purpose of the mask? How can you have a rule that says you have to wear a mask, but its ok to take it of if you want to eat or drink? With the air circulation on an airplane, as long as they serve food the mask is useless.

Lufthansa is the carrier and therefore bound to keep you updated with the latest information as a fare paying passenger and also have a duty of care.

Off the mark on this one Neol unfortunately, love your videos. But given the situation was changing on a day bye day basis in a crisis un seen in over 100 years I'd cut the airline some slack. Flying section of the video was brilliant the un called for rant at the end was not.
