TUI Airways Full Flight: Birmingham to Menorca (Boeing 737-800) AviationHub: Thanks SO much for this video. I've been going to Menorca since I was a kid, and I'm still in love with the island at age 27. I still visit every year. I spend 90% of my flight sim time in the Balearics. To watch this full flight is fantastic! And I can even contribute some facts for you. You obviously landed on RWY 01, using the SARGO 2B STAR (Standard Terminal Arrival, which begins at the waypoint SARGO at about 2: 36: 00 - where the STAR has you fly an imaginary circle with a radius of 13 nautical miles from the Airport, anticlockwise around Menorca to reach waypoint and Initial Approach Fix (IAF) called BALIO, however in this case ATC directed you DIRECT to the IAF BALIO, which is seen in the wing movement at 2: 36: 37 (a simple confirm button would have initiated this. This was a massive shortcut and they would have had to increase the rate of descent to compensate for this and release the speed brake (so as not to overspeed, you can see it on the inner wing at 2: 42: 52 - accompanied with a direct deceleration on your display, (they needed to slow down quick. It's deployed back at 2: 43: 18 and the speed increases again, however at 6000ft they were close enough to the altitude of the initial approach fix (usually 3500ft at BALIO) that they could let the speed bleed off.
Flaps 1 set at 2: 46: 00. At 2: 46: 30 ATC then probably gave you a heading to intercept the runway's Localizer (probably about 030 deg) which you did - then correcting to the runway heading of 008 deg at 2: 48: 48 when the localizer and glideslope was captured! At this point descending about 700ft/min on the RWY 01 ILS Y glideslope. 2: 50: 27 Flaps 2 and Autopilot off. Speed about 160kts, gear down shortly after. 2: 51: 55 see the engines decel to final approach speed of about 140kts. Great landing! Taxi via (T)ango, left to (J)uliet, into Stand 15.
Fun Fact, because you arrived just a bit early, the Ryainair beind you did the FULL circling approach so as not to get in your way hah.
Anyway great vid, as you can see I enjoyed watching it.

Crikey, I didnt read the info! I just saw a Noel vid and clicked on it.
Im exhausted from watching the 11 minute walk through the terminal. I got to 17 minutes and thought there was something wrong given the plane was still on the ramp, before looking how long the video is. Sorry but I like the short vids with commentary. I can see the full flight vids are appreciated though! Id watch if it was somewhere I wanted to go, such as the Isle of Man.

I did this exact trip back in 2016 from LGW-MAH and we flew with easyJet and on decent into Mahon somewhere over mainland Spain there was a massive thunderstorm and the captain said if you look out the left side of the plane there is a big electric storm happening or something like that but I cant remember what he said exactly

I love how TUI Airways makes any destination feel like a home away from home! I remember my first flight to Menorca - looking out of the window as we approached Palma Airport, the sun was glistening on the Mediterranean Sea - it was breathtaking.

Hey look, the announcement at Birmingham airport is very much like the one at deli, but there's only one difference I think. Deli, is bigger than Birmingham, correct me if I'm wrong. The voice is exactly the same too.

Im interested in finding out what you're using to watch the route with your iPad. whats the app and are you just using the GPS built into the cellular model? I'd love to be able to log this when on a trip away.

As always, really great video. And just want to really say thank you for telling/teaching me how to do the moving map. I still am having a few issues, but trying to work them out before asking for more help. :)

Awww man. My office is literally just feet out of shot during takeoff. It's likely I'm sat in there looking up at the plane as I spend all day doing it.

I'm surprised that the passengers did not applaude the timely and smooth landing. I knew an young Austrian Lady who visited Menorca.
