Alice springs is a host to the Asia pacific storage yard, during the pandemic large widebody aircrafts were flow out to Alice for storage. It was a prime location with a majority dry climate. It is also a place where C-17 arrive to drop off loads for Pine Gap. I'm also unsure if they are scrapping a Singapore airlines A380, idk your call.
Alice Springs is also a place of several emergency landings from many airlines such as Jetstar and Malaysian airlines

I've flown that milk run several times - leaving early morning from Darwin via Alice on a E120/Metroliner/Fokker, down to Adelaide on a B738/Q400, then on to Melbourne on a B738, one more flight on an E190/Q400/B738 and home just before midnight eastern time. During the summer months with daylight savings it was the only way to get across the country in a day.
The last time i did it was with a burst eardrum which wasnt fun with that many altitude transitions.

When I live in Darwin, I used to fly AirNorth's Metroliner, when they had them. The interior was so undersized that the staff gave you bottles of water before you boarded the aircraft and, possibly, a case of Claustrophobia. But then again, it was a special experience because you were able to travel to smaller communities in the Top End’ and catch a glimpse of some exceptional landscapes from a reasonable elevation.

30 years ago went Darwin to Alice Springs by overnight coach. definite experience. dead straight road in the desert with a tiny kink on the horizon. from where another dead straight road. the services are great. gives tumbleweed a bad name. only other thought, if you have time, stop. And do local stuff (Katherine Gorge. Flying Doctors at Alice Springs. Uluru/The Olgas30 years later never had chance to go back)

is one of the most uneducated guys I have ever seen on the aviation blogs. And then always his absurd assessments when it comes to food in business class: The clown can't hold the cutlery correctly and in his private life he always ends up at McDonald or Weatherspoon. It's time for all these strange bloggers to be blocked by the airlines. BTW: I cycled from Alice Spring to Darwin in february 2009.

Deregulation in Canada saw many regional airports lose 737 or DC9 service. Already downgraded to Dash8 or ATRs when the ATRs were all moved south due to icing problems Canadian Airlines replaced many routes with the Brasilia. They zoomed in and zoomed out like the mosquitos of commuter air service. Always felt flimsy in Canadian winters. I'm sure they helped CP go bankrupt.

Flew Alice springs to Darwin last year, drove a camper van round to Katherine, it's a nice town in the wet season the fords have depth gauges at the side of the road in metres. Not desert. The boneyard at Alice springs was great wish I'd had time to look around.
We had a 6 hour bus from uluru as there's no flights from uluru to Darwin when we were there.

Cebu pacific might not offer the best legroom out there but they offer some good fares making it possible for many Filipino people to fly so I'm thankful for them existing and always fly 5J domestically.
Great review and fun to see videos from small outback airports, brings back memories from Australia.

I’ve got ya beat with crossing the country in a small plane. I rented a Piper Cherokee and am spending 100 hours flying around the country. Just started yesterday and am 6. 6 hours in. Only 93. 4 to go. This is going to be a long 2 weeks! I’d rather be in a EMB-120! Great video as always!

Let’s hope the next place you go to is also in Australia. As many flight reviews I’ve seen just stop over in Australia and then leave the continent. Great video as always. It was interesting seeing the weather change from the north to the south, and how dry it was in Alice Springs.

We flew from Darwin to Cairns with a stop in Gove on Air North on our recent trip to Australia, imagine our surprise when you checked in as we had the same person check us in. Our flight had lots of the miners going to work in Gove, then the miners going back to cairns

I grew up flying on this type of plane when they were operated by SkyWest. They certainly do have a distinctive sound and the flying experience is more. visceral By that I mean you feel every pitch, roll, and yaw the plane encounters during flight.

Oh man, I haven't been on an EMB 120 in over 20 years. Delta Connection used to use them to get to an airport near family. If it tells you anything about the 120, when they were replaced by the CRJ 200 I immediately thought wow, these are comfortable!

Your braveness is beyond reality: Surviving in a filthy, tiny old plane, almost no service, a tiny Loo and stormy weather. Best part of the video was the Hotel Room, so nice. Thank you for all your effort and a big hug from Basel, Switzerland

Next time you are in Australia you should visit Christmas Island either to come to Australia of fly out of Australia. Christmas Island is Australian External Territory part of WA and there are flights from Perth and Indonesia.

I think if it was my first time doing this trip I would do the multi stops, but if I was a long time resident of coarse straight through. Also the price and time would need to be added decision.

With only 2 people on the plane going into Alice, I'd have been very surprised if your bags were delayed. [you weren't flying Jetstar! ] Have fun in our magnificent, if currently rather soggy, country, Noel.

Enjoy Adelaide, if you get time go visit the library, it's architecture is stunning plus you have a statue of Rabbie burns. There are lovely park walks that all interconnect. Loved it there when I visited
